Sleek protection from the elements

Covering up against the rain doesn’t mean having to sacrifice on streamlined performance. The Rapha rain jacket has a trim, tailored fit that features a 3-ply fabric on the forearms, which makes the jacket more comfortable against bare skin when worn with short sleeves.

This season’s version is updated with two stripes across the midsection, one of which is reflective. It’s a subtle, stylish change yet one which resulted in a much more visible jacket. A zipped front side pocket is large enough for wallet or other valuables.

  • 2.5-ply waterproof body fabric
  • Soft, waterproof 3-ply forearm fabric
  • Lightweight and packable

  • Zipped valuables pocket
  • Neoprene cuffs

  • 100% nylon

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for rain or very cold rides with layers The fit is nice and tight, no bulking. In the rain it does a great job. Obviously it will not keep you bone dry in heavy rain, other wise there wouldn't be any breathability... and you'd still end up wet, but because of your sweat. This being a rain jacket, the breathability is limited. On warmer days (10-15 degrees), you'll quickly find yourself sweating. Unzipping a bit helps to get the air flowing. Thought I'd enjoy using this jacket in the colder weather as a wind blocker, but turns out a soft shell is much better! In the end, great for the rain, but is you don't ride much in the rain, better get a soft-shell (Rapha's pro team jacket is amazing!). Good sleeve length by the way. Much appreciated reflective features.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed This jacket fails me where i need it most. Breathability. After trialing it for months through all kinds of winter i am now hesitant to take this out with me again because i cannot handle the feeling of wearing a wet plastic bag after only 10-15km. Below 10ºC it's not as noticeable but typical wet temps here are usually around 12-20ºC. Water repellent - yes Impenetrable (but not crucial to me) Packability - yes satisfied Fit/cut - 2nd to none. Colour-way and visibility - Excellent. Will i wear it again? less likely. My old basic rain shell with pit zips gave me less discomfort and it's come down to that. Rapha engineers - flawless record until this. I challenge you to do better!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it promises. Almost. It's the best rain jacket I have ever had. It keeps you dry and suits perfectly for rides that end or start in dark. The only issue is its breathability. When the shower hits you on a warm day you'll be definitely wet - wet from sweat. Also, I would be happy to have a pocket for water bottle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly waterproof - great for commuting With a 20 mile commute each way and the changeable British weather I was in the market for a rain jacket that would keep ALL the rain off and pack away to a decent size. This jacket fits the bill! With 90% of my commute being on unlit country roads I liked the idea of the reflective strip across the chest and back, although I'm not sure how reflective they are despite plenty of time in front of the mirror admiring how good the jacket looks, maybe i'll just have to flag down a passing car and check.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rain rain come from Spain glad to see your face... Arrived promptly on a wet cold January morning - perfect timing so no excuses not to get out for a spin. Has kept me dry through some heavy, prolonged rain showers so no complaints there. My (medium) jacket does roll up small enough to squeeze into the back pocket of my(small) classic jacket - about 2/3rds in so secure enough. That's good as it's not very breathable so you wouldn't want to be wearing it in UK spring weather except during a shower. Needed the medium - small just a little too small. Nice detaining. Expensive but I did secure some 'co-funding' at Christmas - thanks Dad!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great jacket, strange fit I bought this for my husband as a birthday gift. He loved the look and style of the jacket. Sadly, it didn't fit well at all. He is 6'2" and long in the torso. The size L in this jacket was too short for him. We didn't exchange for an XL because the sleeves, which were already bunchy, would have been way too long. He has other Rapha gear and size L has always worked. This was disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks awesome, fits well, great against rain &wind Got the Rapha rain jacket a couple of weeks ago. I already used it twice. The first time it was raining and it kept me totally dry and warm. Today it was just pretty cold and windy and since I don't have a wind jacket (yet) I decided to use the rain jacket. It worked pretty well. Not perfectly because it's not super breathable. Still it kept me warm and I didn't feel the wind at all. The jacket is also super thin and rolls easy for storing in the back pocket of my jersey. It has a convenient zippered pocket on the front left, which is great for keys and maybe one gel so I don't have to unzip it to reach the back pocket of my jersey under it. I recommend this product. It's great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit disappointed The Jacket looks great and is visible in poor conditions (green colour) with reflective features and fits really well (6ft 80 kg in a large). It also folds down well and can easily fit in a standard jersey pocket. However I do not feel the performance of the fabric of the jacket is up to standard for the price, even under relatively low intensify riding in cool conditions the jacket is sweaty and after an hours riding in moderate to light rain the jacket seems to be giving up and you start to get pretty damp. I appreciate that this lightweight jacket but I expected a bit more on the back of other Rapha products I have. I also feel that the tail of the jacket could be longer, if you have a few things in your jersey pockets it rides relatively high and you feel a little under protected.

Hi, my back length is around 57cm but as a former rower my chest is 110cm. Do you think I should go with large or is the chest going to be too tight? Same question regarding short sleeve training jersey.

Asked by: Teemu
Hi, we would recommend you choose an x-large in this jacket and the Short Sleeve Training Jersey. Both items would most likely be too tight on your chest in large. As always we do have a free 90 day returns policy if needed. I hope that helps.

How does the sizing compare to the classic softshell and the pro team race cape. I already own the softshell but not sure what would be best for our heavy down pour summers? Trying to decide whether to buy the cape or the rain jacket?

Asked by: Nightrider
Hi, the Pro Team Race Cape has a close, race ready fit. The Rain Jacket has a fit more similar to the Softshell Jacket. Both would be great for heavy rain. The correct jacket for you would depend on your preferred fit.

Asked by: owen Clements
Hi, please refer to the size guide as far as possible. Without specific jersey information, or measurements, it can be hard for us to provide an accurate answer. On this occasion, a Large may be suitable. Should you need to exchange, we have a 90 days return period.

A friend has the past model in red , the model has the nylon side panels.  I was able to try this on, pack it, and he has use it.  Does the current model have same material and feel? Same pack size or smaller?  Improved breathing performance? Same fit?
