When the temperature drops but you still need to put in a good hard ride, these padded winter tights are used on Team Sky's winter base rides and cold weather training sessions.

High-performance winter tights

Deep into the coldest season, these tights will keep you warm but stop you overheating thanks to a dual-fabric construction inspired by the Pro Team Jacket.

The wind-blocking DWR (durable water repellent) fabric on the front panels gives necessary protection from the elements while the breathable fabric on the rear allows sweat to be released from the back of the tights. A nifty innovation to stop you sweating in traditionally thick winter wear.

The chamois is in the same position as in the Pro Team Bib Shorts, staying stable and comfortable during even high-intensity efforts in the drops. The bib straps are constructed from a lightweight mesh, and the tights' waist is raised to offer insulation across the torso, keeping the lower back warm. Finished with bright details for visibility in low light.

Reviews:

‟Heading out on a couple of early morning rides with a temperature of about 2°C, my legs were toasty warm. And thanks to the breathable fabric at the back of the legs, I never experienced any overheating, even as the temperature moved up into double figures after a five-hour ride. For riding in really bad weather these tights are about the best I've ever tested.”
‟Fit is an area Rapha generally do extremely well, and these are extremely comfortable bib tights. The DWR treated material does not have a great deal of stretch, but thanks to the smart cut of the various panels there is no restriction on your freedom of movement when pedalling. The fit is good around the hips, bum and crotch area too, and the flat wide bib straps exert no undue pressure on your shoulders.”

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm tights for poor conditions This is a very good product for winter riding. Its warm, even down to sub-zero temperatures. The fabric handles light rain and roadspray well. The fabric is tighter and not so stretchy as other cycling kit from Rapha, so keep that in mind when ordering. The pad is good, but rather big so you loose the feeling where your seat is; feelingless but comfortable I would say. For some reason I slide forwards on the seat with these tights, I have never done this before with any other cycling shorts or tights, even from Rapha.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like a hug for your legs These are awesome. Not just a bit awesome, but holy bananas fly me to the moon awesome. Wore them on a ride which was 2 hours at 3-5°C and then dropped to -2°C and was comfortable the whole time. Warm, but not sweaty. You forget they're there. I usually wear size large in the Pro Team bib shorts. I got these in Large and they fit, but were a touch wrinkly around the knees and thighs. Swapped for a Medium and the first time putting them on was like getting into a wetsuit. But out riding they fit absolutely perfectly. I'm 5'11, 30" inside leg, 32 waist and 40 chest. I used to have a pair of heavy duty winter bibs and a pair for spring and autumn in lighter fabric. I haven't worn either since getting these. They're about as perfect as you can get.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific Tights Only needed once since purchased. I wore these bottoms one Sunday morning ride wich I started early to avoid the forecasted downpours. Unfortunately after a couple of hours of drizzle and a few showers it started lashing down. Fortunately I wasn't to far from home so I baled out. But for the amount of rain that fell in such a short period and the fact the tights were already quite damp I am very pleased with how the bottoms performed. A lot more expensive than my previous waterproofs but comfortable with no overheating no chafing and no wet legs so no brainer. Highly Recommended

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and comfortable I bought these mid summer (by Scottish standards, so never felt like I was a million miles from needing them) and wasn't looking forward to having to set them to work. I have to say though not only are they a perfect fit and warm, they're so good they're changing my whole outlook on winter riding. I'm genuinely looking forward to a change of season so I cn actually gt the use out of them. Perfect product, well done.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm, comfortable and well made I've only just bought and started to use these tights, so my reflections are limted to a few rides. So far, so good. They're comfortable, warm and well made. That said, the real test is after they've been used and washed dozens of times... so the jury's out. One thing I would like to see from Rapha and other manufacturers of bib tights and shorts is a short zipper in the front, from the top of the bib down to somewhere above the front end of the pad, to make 'comfort breaks' a bit easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent I have ridden this jacket in a range of weather conditions, from heavy drizzle, cool windy conditions, and intermittent warm sunshine and it has performed very well, resisting the rain wind well without over heating even on high intensity rides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Letting of steam These will take you through the winter. The micro fleeace on the front panels keeps you warm and dry. The back panels really let's the steam out. The bibs are really warm and comfy.

Hi, my waist size is 86cm but the size of inside leg is 74cm. I am wondering if M is a nice fit. Thx.

How do these compare with the classic Winter tights, are they warmer ?

Asked by: Savi
Hi, these tights are similarly warm and we recommend you use them in the same conditions. The difference is these tights have a closer fit and an in built pad, meaning you do not need to wear them over a pair of shorts.

What is the difference between new Brevet & new Pro team winter tights with pads ? Any major water & windprofing / temp range / pad differences which should be taken into consideration when choosing one of them ?

Asked by: mmSpecilaized
Hi, both pairs of tights are water resistant, whilst the Pro Team Winter Tights with Pad are also wind-resistant. The Brevet Winter Tights with Pad are slightly warmer, have a quicker drying pad and further reflective features. The final difference is the fit. The Pro Team version have a close, race ready fit, whilst the Brevet option have a slightly more relaxed cut.
