Pocket-sized waterproof gilet

The Pro Team Rain Gilet is an essential piece of kit for days when the weather looks changeable. Packing down into a jersey pocket, it is less bulky than a jacket and will keep your core protected should rain set in. A pared-back take on the popular Pro Team Race Cape, the Rain Gilet uses the same breathable and waterproof fabric by Polartec – which is new and improved for 2016. A dropped tail keeps road spray off the back of your jersey, and the fabric has a slight stretch to allow the gilet to keep its shape over fully-loaded pockets. It also shares the same Pro Team race fit as the Race Cape. As with most of our Pro Team products, this gilet was designed in response to a direct request from our teams - in this case Team Sky - for a versatile, protective garment with minimal bulk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Visible,Warm and Dry I was keen to improve my visibility on the road as well as keeping warm on early morning rides. This jacket does both in spades and also does a good job in keeping fairly heavy rain showers at bay. Packs down well into my jersey pocket. Good tight fit same sizing as for your jersey.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit & versatile cycling gear... Very happy with this gilet, I'm normally large on Rapha jerseys but went with a medium on this one, it fits tight but not uncomfortable at all. It does a great job isolating your body heat and keeping you warm. I haven't used it on the rain yet. It is perfect for the chilly winter mornings here in Melbourne... I'm 177 tall and 73kg.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful garment for riding in wet and warm Either if you are a warm person, or ride in wet and warm conditions, this gilet is excellent. Can also double as a wind blocker for colder conditions. Would have been nice to have other colors than black and high-viz, the RCC grey model is nice. A garment that is easy to store away in a back pocket, and fetch when needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece of work! Fantastic gilet for those days when you are starting in cold/wet conditions or when you anticipate light rain during the day - but don't want to bring a bulky jacket! Beeing the Pro Team line it is very tight - but great fit once in racing position!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile & essential Gilet A perfect piece of kit especially for a long day in the saddle when weather may vary.. Keeps the body dry and warm in case of a rain spell, easy to vent if temps warm up and also rolls to a minimal package to stow. Nicely cut back length to adequately cover things. Quality fabric, manufacture and design - deserving of the "pro" tag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential kit, but you need to know.... I lost a few pounds recently (165lbs 5'8) so went for 'medium' - school boy error! Go large, small was fine round waist but too tight round chest. Also to note only one small zip pocket (just big enough for iPhone, so perfect really). A proper race gillet, fits snugly and wraps up small enough to fit in pocket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Variable Weather I bought this for a future trip to the Dolomites and expected changes in temp / precipitation. Have only used it in Scotland so far but, in temps 3-15 deg and showers it has been very versatile and easy to fit in jersey pocket. I have found light weight gilets to be no use for rain or high ascents (very low temps) therefore thsi has been ideal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic piece of kit Fantastic piece of kit, I now need 1 less layer when wearing this on cold wet days

Hi, Another (not very stimulating:) question about size: I´ve got the classic jersey in L, which for me is a rather relaxed fit. If I would like the pro team rain gilet to fit similar which size should I go for? My chest is about 100cm.

Asked by: Mattias1983
We have adjusted our sizing so you will be the same size across our range so would suggest that the L would also be optimum

Hi, I am returning a pro team rain gilet as its very tight. I currently take a L in the lightweight jersey, M in classic jersey and M in your core bib shorts. Which size would you advise please?

Asked by: Dan L
The Pro Team has a race fit and is designed to be tight fitting. You should suit a Large Size in the Pro Team Range.

Hello what are the differences between een this gilet and the brevet gilet?

Asked by: My Name is Thor
The Pro Team Gilet will have a much closer fit whereas the Brevet has a more relaxed fit. The other difference between these garments is that the Pro Team garment is designed to be waterproof with a Polartec fabric and is therefore more robust at dealing with heavy rainfall then the Brevet garment. The Brevet Garment is water repellent but unlike the Pro Team range is not designed for racing and is designed for more longer distance riding and is thus insulated for extra warmth.

How would this Gilet compare to the other gilets you offer in terms of wind protection? I'd like to buy something which offers some wind protection and shower protection but is also breathable.

Asked by: MAR29
Hi, this gilet does offer wind and water protection but as it is completely waterproof, it is slightly less breathable than some of our lighter weight gilets.

Asked by: limbu29
Hi, this gilet is made from a breathable, very waterproof fabric called Polartec Neoshell.
