Stowable windproof and showerproof jacket, updated with a stretch fabric

Updated with a new fabric that has improved stretch and a luxurious matte finish, the Pack Jacket weighs less than 100g and packs down to the size of a Rapha Essentials Case, making it the perfect outer layer to keep in a bag or pocket for when the weather changes and the temperature drops.

Made from an extremely lightweight nylon, the jacket is windproof and showerproof, and incorporates reflective tabs at the hem and collar. The back panel is shaped with seam darts, keeping the jacket close to the body and reducing any flapping fabric. Bound elastic cuffs and a shockcord waist puller give the jacket a comfortable but close fit, while laser-cut ventilation holes help regulate body temperature. When not in use, the Pack Jacket can be stored in its Essentials Case-sized stow pouch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket for everyday use I am super happy with the Pack Jacket. It's so light, it almost feels like it's not there. Being tall (194cm) and slim, I fall in between an L and XL in terms of length. After much consideration I chose a size L. It's too loose around the body for my liking, but in terms of over all length and arm length, it's great. I have used the jacket almost as much off road as I have on road.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy Pack Jacket Simple utilitarian style, carry it everywhere as the emergency shower cape, light weight and packs down into its own zipped case, and has washed well retaining colour and shape. I'm 70Kgs, 175cm and overall very comfortable, felt great and a worthy addition to the wardrobe replacing numerous poorer substitutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great overall A great all around jacket. I use on and off the bike and get compliments on both occasions. Definitely isn't a race fit jacket, but is snug enough and works well in light rain. I haven't got caught in anything too serious yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great versatility Really glad I brought this jacket just in time for a Melbourne ride in early September. As you might imagine 4 seasons in one day. So it was easy to pack away and store when the weather was warm, then ideal for shielding the wind on a fast downhill and protected me from the rain as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect for light rain and cold mornings Great for cold mornings, packs away into its own little case. The case becomes a little bulky but still fits quite easily into jersey pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Indulgence I regularly ride across the marshes very early in the mornings where there can often be unexpected chilly mists. This is perfect for those occasions. Something light and packable to throw on when you need it. It is expensive for what it is, but it is also beautifully made and looks good both on and off the bike. You could easily just carry it around everywhere. It is useful and light, I am six feet and tip the scales at a too-comfortable thirteen-stone-plus and so I bought the XXL. It has plenty of room (I prefer a relaxed fit - I am a tourer, not a racer, or riding specifically to get fit) It doesn't breathe all that well, so it's not for warmer conditions but for chilly misty mornings, or passing autumn showers this is very nice indeed.

Hi, Is it as waterproof as the core rain jacket?

I'm curious how wrinkle resistant this jacket is? I'd likely use in the chilly morning then pack away in the stow bag for my ride home in the PM. I'm just afraid that once I take it out of the pack sac it's going to look like a wrinkled mess the next day.

Asked by: MattinCanada
Once worn any wrinkles incurred from the packing should become less prominent.

How would you describe the difference between this jacket and the Core Rain Jacket?

Asked by: psashworth
The Core Rain jacket is designed for use in the wet conditions and is a heavier garment. The pack jacket is more lightweight and can be folded up and placed in your jersey pocket for easy storage. It is also waterproof and windproof.
