A stylish magazine that broadens the reference points of the sport.

Mondial expands the idea of what road cycling is and what the sport can be. Featuring incisive longform writing and stunning photography, in Mondial you will find familiar cycling topics given a fresh new treatment, while a cycling viewpoint is brought to wider cultural subjects, thus broadening the sport’s reference points.

In issue two, we look at the art of suffering through the works of great painters, while Herbie Sykes explores how the tycoon Gianni Agnelli heralded the demise of the golden era of Italian cycling. Julian Hoffman explores the appeal of mountains to the human imagination and Ben Shewry, chef-patron of Melbourne’s Attica, one of the world’s top 50 restaurants, reflects on how cycling changed his life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mag goes deep Mondial goes beyond cycling into design, philosophy, culture, wildlife, personalities. If it's straight cycling you want, it may not be for you, but if you're interested in a magazine about the wider world, give it a shot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well written beautifully typeset I enjoy reading this magazine - it's very well written and beautifully put together. Some of the photography is exceptional. It's a lovely magazine to sit and enjoy. I particularly enjoy the design features on liberty for example and the interviews with designers and typographers. It would be nice to see a few more insights into the Rapha design / marketing team though. Would also be nice to see more illustration in the magazine I really liked the illustrations Matt blease did for last years TDF

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another example of Rapha's creativity! These magazines are great. Packed full of useful and interesting features, and produced twice a year so you actually get time to read them before the next one arrives! Just joined RCC so looking forward to getting my next instalment delivered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So not a magazine! More. These I'll keep. It would be crime to throw away: if I found this in a waiting room I think I would, ermm liberate. Everything screams top quality, the actual item itself, the paper, printing, typography is top notch. What makes it a real keep is the quality of the writing, not just about cycling (loved the interview with Erik Spiekermann!), the layouts and photography. Any cyclist would love this as a gift.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice look and content A very different and aesthetically pleasing magazine. My bad was that I didn't know that the third issue was released (but out of stock), but I'll get that one later on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful layout, diverse stories I was given a copy of Issue #1 at the Tour of California. When I got home, I decided to read it. So glad that I did. This magazine presents cycling and world cyclists live in, in such a bold fashion. For once a magazine that does not isolate cycling but shows us how interconnected it is in the world around us. It is about cycling and so much more. There are also wonderful features about artists, architects and wine. The paper is beautiful, the graphics and photography are stunning, the layout is fun and retro, but fresh. I immediately purchased Issues #2 and #3. A beautiful magazine.
