A stylish magazine that broadens the reference points of the sport.

The launch issue of Mondial offers a fresh angle on some familiar cycling subjects. We examine the extraordinary achievements of Sir Bradley Wiggins by way of his psychological make-up, mine the sport’s rich history through the cycling clubs that built New York, and get a bird’s eye view of iconic ranges with Spencer Murphy’s striking raptor portraits. Mad Men writer Tom Smuts talks televsion, while Matthew Gwyther appeals for business’ faith in data to be allied to intuition, and places the pursuit of marginal gains in a wider context.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not your usual cycling mag Enjoyed reading this. Although I did expect more direct cycle-sport related content, the features did all in some way have a connection with the 'spirit of cycling' (e.g. the feature on birds of prey you could easily connect with the characteristics of certain types of riders in a peloton). That said, I would have liked a greater bias towards direct sport-related features. No questioning the quality of the writing and production though - usual very high Rapha standards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A book shelf keeper! As a rule I never buy magazines, that's what the web is for. That said I bought Mondial because I knew it would be a keeper and I wasn't disappointed. As a designer, the level of detail and typographic detailing I've seen is superb. I love the variations in paper and printing. On top of the that the content is really good and it doesn't read as one enormous Rapha 'buy me' advertorial. My only gripe is that it's biannual, it should be at least quarterly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bike mag and lifestyle in a beautiful design I bought the first magazine for reading material in preparation for a quiet tour round Ireland. As well as being a stunning design exercise the balance between bike mag and lifestyle accessory is nearly perfect. Every article has been read; a testament to the quality and content. It has been borrowed and enjoyed by cyclists and non-cyclists alike. I am looking forward to the next one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks and feels good Brilliantly packaged as always from Rapha. I was disappointed with the magazine. I am a cyclist and have to admit that that is the limit of my interests. If I want to read about birds then I will buy a magazine about birds. While I understand that you are trying to cater for other tastes, selfishly that is likely to disenfranchise someone like me and I would imagine many others.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Promising start, high hopes for the future As a subscriber to Rouleur I'm used to great writing and photography from cycling magazines. Whilst Mondial is a little hit and miss with the essays, the photography is top notch. I also don't mind the features on Rapha products as long as they are well written and provide insight. I look forward to the next issue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting new publication... Bought on a whim, just to see what it was like... I presume this is the replacement for Rouleur? if so, it is more than a match. It has the same high quality production, writing & photography with the bonus of some "left-field" articles to entertain too. I look forward to issue 2

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A welcome alternative to the market I'm an avid Rouleur and Cyclist reader but tried this to see if Rapha could make the transition. Very impressed with the first product which gives a wider, global cycling insight. I've read through a couple of times now and certainly will continue buying the next offering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nicely designed magazine, was great reading I loved the quality of this magazine. It is very well done, something that you really want to hold. I say that as a person that reads a large number of books and magizines on my tablet using Kindle software and also listen to many using Audible while riding my bike.
