Leather Town Gloves

These classically styled all-weather cycling gloves are cut from the finest African hair sheep leather. African hair sheep live on the arid savannah of Eastern Africa, to cope with the heat and dry conditions, the hair sheep have extremely thin but strong skin. Therefore the gloves are highly durable and the leather will improve with age, becoming even more comfortable as they shape to your hands.

The gloves include numerous technical features, including Rapha's signature military-grade padding in the palms for improved shock absorption and better control on the bike. The inside of the glove has a lining which is excellent at wicking moisture to keep your hands dry and warm and is also odour resistant. A single strap with a popper keeps the gloves snug at the wrist.

Please note: acid from sweat eats away at leather over time, so it’s important to wash the gloves, particularly if you’ve sweated them through on a ride and you notice the gloves losing moisture and malleability. Once washed and dried, glove balm should be applied to keep them supple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice... real nice This is a class act: the leather is supple and soft, the padding is light and exquisite with no vibration to consider. The medium fit is spot on for my slim long fingers (5’11, 177lb/1.80m, 80K). They are equally happy for that ride to work, promenade or sojourn. For me they work best at 8-15C. lower- I need liners, higher: risk being a little sweaty. I’ve lived in these throughout the Autumn...My other gloves are getting jealous. Yes, the price may seem prohibitively expenses for some, but these are not for some, so stop your whinging!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft, warm, comfortable, sexy... I've worn these in temperatures of between 8C down to 1C (taking into account windchill factor) and they are really warm but not too warm. The lining is soft and when you take them off for any reason the lining stays put. The pads are superb. Oh and they look fantastic in burnt orange and I'm looking forward to seeing how they age. The fit is perfect for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Townie Gloves I bought these gloves a few weeks ago and am impressed, although I've not told anyone how much they cost. I used them on a bicycle tour of Berlin at minus 8 degrees and they just about kept out the cold. The fit is perfect and the leather soft and supple. I wouldn't choose to use them on the Saturday chain-gang, but for keeping your hands warm whilst manipulating a camera, using a mobile, pulling a euro note from your wallet or handling a panzerfaust - all of which you wouldn't want to take your gloves off for at minus 8 degrees- they are top notch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful gloves I've never found synthetic winter cycling gloves that quite do the job. Have used a rather tired old pair of ill-fitting leather gloves for several years, and took a chance by splashing out on these as a replacement. They are exquisitely made things, in the highest quality leather, a joy to pull on. And they keep hands warm! I'm a cold water swimmer, so I need something that works after a dip in 3 or 4 degree water, and these are the business. A hefty outlay, but worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, supple gloves I bought these to replace a stolen pair of the old black leather Rapha city style gloves, and these are far superior: the wrist strap is much better designed, the fit much more comfortable, and overall a much better quality glove with more padding. These are worth every penny if you want something special for riding about town.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gloves I've had the 'PaulSmith' gloves before these and they were good, but this new city version is even better. Great fit and improved padding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit They fit absolutely perfect, and are great for the Danish winter, which is not too cold but around 0 celcius. Highly recommendable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Soft leather Soft leather, lovely fit, warm. For what they cost though, should expect a good few years of use from them.
