Lightweight weatherproof for the rigours of the city

When getting wet during your city ride isn’t an option, the Hooded Rain Jacket will keep the elements out. Using a waterproof, lightweight and high-stretch fabric with fully taped internal seams, this cycling jacket is extremely water and wind resistant.

The rollout hood is engineered to fit under a bike helmet and will follow with the movement of a rider’s head for optimum field of vision. The cinch-cords on the hood have self-locking eyelets, allowing for adjustment with one hand.

The cuffs have reversible tabs with hi-vis stripes that use a new snap closure, while a hi-vis, drop-down tail can be stored in the rear panel when not in use. There are laser-cut vent-holes under the arms, and the main water-resistant Vislon® zip has a Velcro-fastened placket, imitating that of the Pro Team Race Cape.

The cut is more relaxed than Rapha’s race- and training-specific jackets, and looks just as good off the bike as it does when in the saddle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unparalleled in every way. I've been cycling in one discipline or another for the last 34 years. I've owned just about every piece of kit there is. I've hesitated to pull the trigger on anything by Rapha due strictly to the price - which appeared exorbitant to me despite the price-desensitization prevalent among avid cyclists. After donning this jacked for my first rainy commute I made a conscious decision to never purchase a jacket from anyone other than Rapha ever again. I mean that. It fits like it was tailored for me. The fabric is lightweight and gives just enough in all the right places. With only a mid-weight merino wool base layer and this jacket I've commuted in sub 20 degree weather quite comfortably. The big thing for me, the key benefit, and something I have never experienced from another manufacturer despite their claims, is that this jacket is waterproof AND breathable. I didn't think it was possible. I understand how over the top this review may seem, but in my opinion it doesn't do this wonderful and amazing piece of kit the least bit of justice. If you're on the fence - pull the trigger already. I can promise you that you won't regret it. Assuming you get the right size - they do run a bit small, however their fit guide is fairly accurate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hooded rain jacket I bought this a month ago and am very happy with the purchase. The jacket was more casual wear as I liked the cut of the pro jacket. The jacket is not as warm as I expected and the fit is on the smaller side. The jackets looks good and is great in the rain. The hood allow you to see in left and right clearly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Miraculous Excellent for all-day use on and off the bike, keeping 100% of rain and wind out while remaining breathable and lightweight. The cut is perfect, with the under-helmet hood allowing plenty of mobility when turning your head and the signature pink drop-down tail providing visibility and rear splash protection in poor conditions. Reflective cuffs, accessible side pockets and the secure zip placket complete a top-quality package.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it Light, good colour, not too fitted, perfectly happy off the bike. Not yet been tested in heavy rain. It's a quality piece of kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Really Is Waterproof Only worn a few times but it seems to have stood up to a decent downpour and stayed dry. A quality product. Great style too. Can easily be worn off bike. Slightly picky but the pocket zips are well concealed and a bit of a faff to get to. But that's being ultra picky! Ps my rating for performance and style below is 5 but the app will only let me select 3 stars !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect jacket with a nod to Britpop Excellent design means perfect function and form with a design nod to Oasis at Maine Road circa 1996. Worn in heavy wind and rain, both on and off the bike, and it performed perfectly. Fit is at you'd expect with longer arms for the bike which somehow also work well off the bike.

I wear a small "Softshell" jacket that fits nice and snug for training but I want something a little more roomie for commuting and even mountain biking. Is a small going to be loose enough for this?

Asked by: David J
Hi, this jacket does have a looser fit than your Pro Team Softshell Jacket and a small should work well.

Is this jacket longer in the front than the Pack Jacket? I find the Pack to be a little bit short for me. About how much longer if so?

Asked by: c0125
Hi, this jacket is a bit longer than the Pack Jacket. It is roughly 4cm longer at the front in a medium.

Is is jacket better for a commute than the new shadow range as I want a jacket that is water proof. This one appeals to me as I can wear it both on the bike to work and then as a jacket if I have to leave the office during the day

Asked by: Swordfish
Hi, this jacket would be a great option for your requirements. It is waterproof for wet weather commuting but looks smart enough to wear around town with a pair of trousers.

Hi, looking for a gift for my bf. He lives in Key West, FL. It rains ferociously at times but never really drops below 65 degrees (with an average of 80). Will this jacket be too warm? What jacket do you recommend for a wet commute in a warm climate?

Asked by: Alohagirl
Hi, this jacket would be a good option for a wet commute in a warm climate. It is lightweight and packable, yet provides the needed water protection.

Hello, is this jacket as waterproof as the pro team race cape? The race cape seems to be your most waterproof jacket but the lack of pockets is quite a compromise.

Asked by: HelenJF
Hi, this jacket does not use the same fabric. It is also waterproof but is slightly less breathable than the Pro Team Race Cape.

Do I need to spray the DWR after a few uses? Then how often and what product do you recommend?

Asked by: Ikko
Hi, you do not need to re-spray the DWR after a few uses. You will need to do this after several washes and many uses. To do this you can use our Apparel Re-Proofer. The DWR restores the hydrophobic properties but the jacket will retain water-resistance even after this wears off.

The black doesn't appear to have the left arm detail and rear tag (bottom right ish) is that correct?. Further images would be helpful.

Asked by: NellyDeee
Hi, the black version of this jacket does have the bottom right reflective tag but this is black and grey rather than pink. It also has the arm cuff detailing. The underside of these cuffs is hi-vis pink.
