Extremely warm Argyle-style socks for the coldest conditions

Rapha Deep Winter Socks have been created for extremely cold riding conditions. They are made from the same merino-rich blend as Rapha’s Winter Socks but have been designed with additional protection for the coldest days. The socks are cut long and have a thick, wind-resistant panel that runs the length of the shin. The main footbed is padded for extra insulation and the toes also have an additional wind-resistant facing. The Deep Winter Socks are extremely versatile and can be worn beneath tights on training runs, or beneath trousers on the city commute.

The socks have a subtle and stylish Argyle construction and the breathable natural fibre wicks sweat to keep your feet dry. Flat handlocked stitching in the toes prevent seams rubbing. The socks feature a pink line graphic around the top of the foot and pink and white stripes around the top of the leg. The socks have a Rapha logo tab on the cuff, while the inside cuff features Rapha block text which is only visible when the cuff is folded down.

Sizing Guide

Sizes range between Small to Extra Large. Above is a guide for UK, US, EU and Japanese measurements.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not so impressed Sadly this is the first Rapha purchase that I've bought that I've not been happy with. The socks appear to shrink every time I wash them. I've tried stretching them when they are wet, but they are becoming increasingly difficult each time to pull on. I can't believe that you would sell socks that require hand washing. I'm only washing them on 30 degrees, but they still seem to get smaller each time. I have the shorter version, and they are fine, but sadly these longer socks are not so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toasty warm! Great socks - really warm. I found that they are a little too long for me, slightly rubbing on the back of my knee unless I remember not to fully pull them up. For reference I bought Large, I'm 6'0 tall with a 32" inside leg and size 44 shoes. I probably should've gone medium but it's only when you get out on the bike that you realise these things.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best when paired with Bermuda shorts and sandals Sure they protect my lower legs down to freezing all on their own. Under tights or jeans they've kept me warm well below freezing (-2°f). But the ladies can't keep their eyes off of me when I wear them with sandals and shorts. And why should they? Nothing says cool quite like black knee high sox with pink trim right? Function and form, doesn't get any better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toasty socks/leg warmers Now the weather has turned colder especially on my early morning rides the cold weather gear has to come out to play . The Rapha deep winter socks are superb at their job , keeping feet warm and comfy . Being so long and with their wind resistant fronts they also act as a barrier to the cold on your legs , in my case almost up to my knees . I imagine i will get long service from them as they look very well made . Typical Rapha really .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good warm sock but very very long Got these to help keep the feet warm in winter and easily does this and very comfy. My only gripe is the length of the sock. I'm a UK8 and 5'9" tall. Picked the right size and they fit the feet and legs perfectly. However length wise they come just over my knee. This means i either have them over the knee under tights and suffer slight rubbing behind the knee or fold over below the knee and have a strange lump under the tights!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thick socks I've been using these on almost every ride for the last couple of weeks in conditions varying from -12 to 5 degrees Celsius with snow, sleet, rain, and stiff winds. They have done their job well. On the coldest days I've doubled up with regular Rapha merino socks underneath. That the socks are extraordinarily long didn't matter to me when I bought them but it actually does a fair bit to keep you warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Deep winter where? I think the good people at Rapha and I have a different idea of what deep winter means. These are warm, but really no warmer than the snowboarding socks I picked up for a couple bucks. I was really hoping they'd work for sub-freezing temps, but my toes got quite cold after a couple hour ride even with booties. Also, they were a bit itchy and long even by my long-legged standards.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from They are warm Comfortable, well padded and very warm. I wore these a week or so ago on the coldest day of the year and could still feel my toes at the end of the ride. Sizing is good for me - my problem with Rapha socks is that I am UK size 8 - borderline on medium-large. I usually go for the Large and in this case they are a good fit

Are these socks very thick? Am worried they might not fit my cycling shoes?

Asked by: HBox1983
Hi, these socks are thicker than normal cycling socks but we did have cycling shoes in mind when designing them. As always we do have a free 90 day returns policy if they don't fit.

I pulled these socks up under the Women's section. Are the shoe sizes listed in the size guide women's shoe sizes or are they men's?

Asked by: Absquatulate
Hi, the size guide displayed is men's shoes sizing.
