Rapha’s Classic Winter Tights are an essential piece of clothing for cold winter cycling. They are made from durable Italian Thermoroubaix fabric and have a brushed fleece inner throughout for maximum insulation. The tights are designed to be worn over your favourite bib shorts so there is no pad. The tights are shaped to provide an ergonomic fit and additional muscle support.

Other features include a mesh panel in the back of the tights to help regulate body temperature and a fully-lined zip to allow you to answer calls of nature quickly and easily. The tights are finished with flatlock stitching to prevent chafing. The left leg has a contrast stripe with a printed Rapha logo and there is an additional 'Wheelsucker' logo on the seat of the tights.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings All the reviews I read were really positive so expectations were high. However experienced very uncomfortable rubbing behind my knees on first couple of (one hour) rides. I have since practiced putting them on to ensure all seams in right place! This seams to remove the bunching of material. Hoping for some major improvements next ride because I am perfect medium (180cm 72kg) and really should be able to get dressed without too much effort. I own various tights, leg and knee warmers and have experienced no such problem before.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pretty average For the price I thought they would be incredibly comfey and very warm. They are warm but they do seem to be incredibly tight. More so than what would be considers normal. They also do not wash very well as the high visability backing on the left leg is washed off instantly. The first Rapha product I am not one hundred percent happy with.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent cold weather tights I´ve had of couple of rides in these tights now and I´m very happy with them. I´ve ridden in temperatures between +6C and -3C. In dry weather they are warm and I've not been cold in them. In -3C and at a high pace (in downhills) you can feel the cold air coming trough, but nothing major. I've used them together with a Thermal bib short.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, well constructed tights The classic winter tights are a must have article for cold winter rides. I would say the ideal temperature to wear these out is lower than 5degrees C. When it warmed up above that I found that I was a little too hot. Pair it with a pro team soft shell jacket, a base layer, and a training jersey and you'll be comfortable in pretty much any condition below 5degrees C. The fabric seemed to offer good protection from the wind and offered a good amount of compression. I'm looking forward to wearing them in the cold, winter months. The tights are very snug, so consider trying them on first if you don't like a tight fit or considering going up a size. Otherwise, these a great addition to your winter wardrobe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality over-bib tights very solid over the bib winter tights, but as with most things Rapha, the size Medium that I ordered fits in length, but not necessarily in leg girth. It is a relatively tight squeeze, though does fit well once adjusted properly. The only, and primary draw back is that these tights only seem to work well with Rapha bibs. Because of the tight fit through the legs, any bibs that have a more traditional elastic leg band will often times get rolled up and caught by the tights as you pull them over the bib. Due to Rapha's bib construction around the thigh band, they do not roll up your thigh, though bibs such as Castelli's Free Race Aero bibs will likely pose issues with the elastic band getting caught in the bib and rolling, making it difficult to reach down the tight and correct. Additionally, I would rate these bibs as practical only down to about 0 degrees Celsius and not much more. Anything below freezing, and with wind more than 5-10mph, would require more serious protection like the deep winter tights. But between 0 - 10 degrees C, regardless of wind, these provide ample protection.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth it I brought these as a replacement for my current winter bibs. However, I was very disappointed with them. The fit was really bad, several time I had to get off the bike and adjust the bibs as the kept on gathering on under the knees. As they have to over padded shorts it make them quite uncomfortable as well. I think its best to pay the extra and get the bib with the pads!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best tights I've ever owned Purchased these tights a couple weeks ago, and so far I've been very impressed. Warm in cooler weather, but even when it warmed up I wasn't dieing from the heat. It rained a bit on one ride and they were completely rain proof. Bought a pair of the XL's even thought I'm a 34 in the waist, I feel like these fit better than the L's. Quite tight so going up a size was a good option. Plus still feel like I could get some long underwear under the XL's, probably not under the L's though. One note I have larger thighs so that's another reason maybe th XL's work for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some good features but also flawed First pair of winter tights ever. Well made quality tights BUT as others have said there is a bit of bunching behind the knee which can irratate. Further they are "snug" on the legs. My legs are no way big but there is no extra room if my thighs size up from cycling!! As much as I love these and my other rapha stuff not perfect and would expect better for the price. Warm comfy and breathable and otherwise well made

I want to replace my Rapha classic winter tights (L), which are 5+ years old. Will a size Large still be okay or are the new tights closer fitting?

Asked by: Bish
Hi, the Classic Winter Tights still have the same fit as they have done for many seasons. We recommend you purchase the same size.

Hello, being that I wear most Rahpa in medium, including the classic bib, would you recommend the same sizing for these? I do wear the PT bibs in large but that may be the only off size I have.

Asked by: Jake F
Hi, we recommend you choose the same size as you wear in other Rapha clothing. The fit is similar to that of the Classic Bib Shorts.

What temps are these rated for?

The Rapha Classic Winter Tights are an essential piece of clothing for cold winter cycling. As such these are not rated for temperature as is it really down to individual tolerances.
