Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket I'm relatively new to cycling so this is only the second wind jacket I've owned. Given the very light weight of the piece, I have to say I was really surprised at how well it does its job: the wind chill factor was virtually eliminated on the couple of 5 degree C rides I took recently. The small is quite slim-fitting, but the slight stretch of the fabric in no way hinders movement or posture on the bike. I'm 5' 11", 155 lbs and the small fits well. I also wear a small Classic Jersey if that helps for reference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great protection against the wind I' 176 cm / 82 kg and I only used the Wind Jacket in February. I was wearing 260 g meriono base layer, Pro Team Jacket and this Wind Jacket on top. It was insulating me against the wind and temperature between 5C and 10C. I felt warm, comfortable, the jacket can stretch enough to fit stuff in the back pocket of my Pro Team Jacket. Even during a small drizzle the Wind Jacket was keeping me dry. It packs well down to the size of one back pocket, so I'm sure the Wind Jacket will be my companion throughout the year, I'll use it on fast descents and chilly hill tops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ABLE TO RIDE IN COLDER CONDITIONS COMFORTABLY! I have been an avid bike rider for over 20 years. Living in Canada, I have always had the struggle of keeping warm and still being able to complete my rides comfortably. I learned to adopt the idea that sitting in my own puddle of sweat in a "garbage bag" was better than freezing to death. I have now discovered this wonderful jacket. Warm and dry because of its excellent breathability. No longer am I freezing from the entry of cold air onto my chest. And the women's base layer with the turtleneck is the perfect companion. So far I have ridden 2 1/2 hour rides in 10 celsius no problem! Beautiful fit and function. I'm 5'4' 125lbs and purchased size small. Thanks Rapha!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fine piece of gear The jacket fits really well, not tight but not baggy. Just enough space inside to create a pocket of warmth. It's super comfortable, as well. Only drawbacks are that the breathabity (I suspect) means that it's not entirely wind proof, so I have to wear arm warmers underneath on chilly mornings, and it's not super compact when stowing in your pocket once the day warms up. I was hoping to get more wind resistance, and the ability to roll it up and tuck it into a pocket when I don't need it. But if you plan to wear it for an entire ride, it's ideal. Fine detailing and amazing fit (the most important features).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great wind jacket This review is only after a handful of rides in 42-45F temps with no precip. I really like the fit and weight of this jacket. The breathability (is that even a word?) is excellent and I have not felt "clammy" despite sustained efforts. The only reason I can't give it 5 Stars is the zipper. The zipper that comes on this jacket is appropriate for a rain jacket but not for a wind jacket. Waterproof zippers have too much friction for one-handed operation. I would love to see a zipper that I can operate with one hand, while wearing winter gloves.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great durability and wind protection I've worn the light blue jacket for about a month during daily commuting about 20 km per day in Sweden. With a single merino base layer it keeps warm within 1-7 degrees Celsius. Nice fit, I have really long arms but they are not at all too short. I chose large size which is perhaps a bit too short when standing in terms of stomach coverage. With bib tights that is of course just a slight style problem, covers the belly appropriately when riding. I had an accident and crashed severely, thick bibs got several years, but the jacket held up even though I was sliding a meter or so on asphalt. So the durability is excellent. Could have wished for a bit more belly coverage, but don't want to upsize and risk any baggyness or flapping material. I'm 193 cm and 87 kg.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent all-rounder. The best bit of Rapha kit. Ideal for UK (esp Scottish) weather - I wear this all year round. Not waterproof but resists well (will be damp on inside after prolonged rain) so ideal for showery weather. Totally windproof, great reflectives, feels and looks fantastic. And small pack size. I'm a 41" chest, mine is a large and fits well. Buy one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic looks with well thought-out details Well thought-out piece that is extremely packable. The cuffs are a particularly nice detail, letting no wind in and never billows out even with the zip down one quarter. As with every Rapha piece, the arms are correct for a stretched out position and the cuffs cover the wrists. Accessing rear jersey pockets underneath is a bit of a bother as there's no side entry zippers but not a deal breaker. The tail comes somewhat long, perfect in the riding position to full cover the jersey. Taping on the seams makes it decently water resistant if caught out, though it's not designed for wet weather it's my go-to in changeable conditions. Dries quickly after a passing shower as well. Styling is top notch, and works well around-town and riding to the office.

Hi, this jacket does use a DWR treatment and so it will need period DWR treatment to maintain its water resistance properties.

I'm 1.70m/68kg and my Classic jerseys and bibs from Rapha are size S, which is a snug but not terribly tight fit. The classic jerseys in M has just too much fabric on the belly for me. Should I get the Classic Wind Jacket in S or M?

Asked by: danster
Hi, please refer to the size guide as far as possible. With the information you have provided, we would suggest you try a Medium. Should you need to exchange, we have a 90 days return period.

I have the Hard Shell and love using it in the winter. It's a bit tricky using it in the spring here in Seattle. Would you recommend the classic wind jacket or the rain jacket for Spring / Autumn? Thanks

Asked by: Unkoolios 13
Hi, we cannot advise on the temperature range of the Wind Jacket as we all regulate temperature differently and exertion levels also need to be considered. The Wind Jacket & Rain Jacket are both lightweight and storable items, both will work well for three seasons. The Wind Jacket is windproof, water resistant and extremely breathable. The Rain Jacket is designed to keep the rider dry in wet conditions yet maintain a low weight.

Hi. i own one example. how should i store it into my back pocket? just stuff it lose into one of the pockets or fold it? does loose stuffing hurt the jacket? there is no bag to it right? thank you. m

Asked by: Markk
Hi, stowing the jacket in the back pocket of a jersey is a personal preference. There are no formal instructions. It can be folded over or 'stuffed'. As ever an element of care is needed but stowing in a jersey pocket will not damage the jacket. There is no stow bag.

I am wearing a small size pro team long Jeresy, and short one. Is it the wind jacket same fitting  with pro team?i am 180cm and chest 94cm. Thanks!

Asked by: hcc Vincent
The Classic wind jacket is more relaxed in fit than the Pro Team range which has an aggressive race design. Please refer to the Classic wind jacket sizing guide for sizing
