Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality After one ride out I'm happy to confirm I'm glad I ordered these mitts. The quality and detail is as you would expect from Rapha but the comfort and fit straight out the bag was a nice surprise. A note on sizing.. My hand measurements tell me I'm a size large, however when they arrived I could barely get them on, and I struggled even more taking them off. Naturally, I exchanged for the next size up and the XL are a perfect fit, despite the hand sizing guide telling me otherwise. My advice, based on experience - Size up! They look great on, and well worth the investment I'd say.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing - poor design (for my hands at least Bought the mitts having sized my hands using the Rapha guide. As is normal, I fall between a Medium and a Large, but have always found a Medium mitt from all other manufacturers to be pretty spot-on, so went with a Medium in the Rapha. The overall fit is about right (eg the vent holes on the knuckles line up where they should), but the biggest problem by far is where the leather of the palm is stitched around the web of the thumb. The construction makes this whole area way tool bulky and the leather bunches up into a hard knot. After about an hour of riding the web between thumb and forefinger is really painful and I have to remove the mitts. It takes about 30+ minutes before the area is properly desensitised after the mitts come off.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Quality Issues I had the black Classic Mitts for more than 2 years and loved them, but had to replace them after an unfortunate accident. Unfortunately, the replacement pair seems to be having several issues and I am in the process of exchanging them. After 2 rides the white mesh that covers the knuckle holes has come undone and one of the seems really digs into the skin between your thumb and pointer finger. I really loved the first pair and hope the recent issues is just an anomaly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As good as I thought they'd be Bought these in white, after reading other reviews and looking in bike shops for other brands (none of which stacked up for me, despite most being a lot cheaper). They're elegant, comfortable, well-made and look as though they'll last (like my other Rapha gear, bought a few years ago and still going strong/looking good). I might regret buying the white ones because of course they show the dirt more - but as long as I remember not to put them on before getting the bike ready, and takoing them off when fixing a puncture (!), I think they'll be OK. When I first put them on they felt slightly small but they eased as I wore them - part of that feeling is because they don't have velcro straps or anything, they're a stretch fit over the palm. It'll be interesting to see how they go in the wash...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thankful for the Grey padding My third pair of Classic mitts, the former being the previous design, and these are a marked improvement. Padding in all the right places; still a relatively short cuff and you wouldn't want to be taking these on and off too regularly as they're a pain to get off when crispy and new, so reserve for dryish rides over a couple of hours, but I love the little details that they share with the Grand Tour mitts. After the white padding of the original Classic mitts became pretty grimy after a few months the grey is a welcome iteration. Hand-wash only!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality & Comfort No regrets buying these, extremely comfortable and great quality. Sizing is smaller than I'm used to, I've small skinny hands and usually fit a small/medium mitt depending on brand. I ordered a large based on previous reviews and the finger/knuckle fit is perfect - ideally the cuff could be a bit tighter but then I do have the skinniest wrists imaginable! Although machine washable, I hand wash them and pleased to see that the nose wipe/glasses wipe and leather palms remain like new. I also treat the leather with Grangers beeswax proofing which has helped keep them protected and supple. I've not had them that long so time will tell regards durability but initial impression is that they'll last a lot longer than previous mitts I've owned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Missing the odd nice touch Lovely product but tricky to take off. Other gloves have something near the fingers that you can pull on to get the gloves off. Quite a tight fit also which is a common annoyance I have with Rapha as you have to pay to send back for replacement. With these gloves, I even measured myself up in order to avoid this but to no avail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So comfortable Been using these mitts since spring and I am really pleased with them. My previous mitts were very comfortable (different brand) but places where I had developed hard skin have now gone. Really pleased. I echo the other reviews which say 'buy small and they will bed in'.

Hi, I measure small for knuckles and large for hand length (slender lady hands) what size is best for me?

Asked by: Rutherford
Hi, this is difficult due to the difference in your hand measurements but we recommend you try a medium. As always we do have a free 90 day returns policy if needed.

Classic mitts can be machine washed? Never heard of machine washing leather. How is that possible? Doesn't that dry out the leather? What other leather care tips do you have to keep the mitts soft and supple. Thanks.

Asked by: jeffbeckfan
Hi, these mitts can be machine washed. It is important not to wring them out afterwards and or dry them in direct sunlight. We do sell a Leather Glove Balm which can be applied to the pad to keep this supple.

compared to GTs, is the padding in classic mitts as dense and cover the same hand area?

Asked by: jeffbeckfan
Hi, the exact distribution of the padding is slightly different on the gloves due to different materials. However, the padding is as dense and covers the same hand area on the Classic Mitts.

Are the "sweat pads" the same on both hands?

Asked by: ddzenfood
Hi, as mentioned in the product description the gloves contain a nose wipe on right thumb, and glasses wipe on left thumb.
