A lightweight, durable and versatile cycling jersey for adventures on the hottest of days

With a lighter-weight construction, yet still able to meet the demands of the toughest long-distance rides, the Brevet Lightweight Jersey is highly breathable and quick to wick away moisture. Reflective Brevet stripes feature on the chest, and three large cargo pockets provide ample storage for food and tools. This fast-drying jersey can be washed and dried overnight ready for your next day’s ride.

In January 2016, three riders from Rapha travelled to South Africa to explore the route of the Tour of Ara; a 700km endurance race through the arid and isolated Karoo region. Facing fierce daytime temperatures, the riders returned asking for a lighter-weight version of the venerable Brevet Jersey, informing the development of the Brevet Lightweight Jersey. Using a 100gm2 fabric, this garment is perfectly suited to adventure rides in hot conditions and features an anti-bacterial, odour-resistant treatment that keeps the jersey fresher for longer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Odd sizing/Abrasive detailing. This is my first "Brevet" jersey. I own many Rapha jerseys. Was excited about the features/colour prior to this purchase. I am not fully happy with this purchase. It is cut very VERY short at the front. Paired with touring shorts or low cut bibs, a few inches of skin will definitely show while standing. Not very bike touring practical/aesthetic. I found the the stitching of the reflective material bands very sharp, especially in the back. It's very abrasive so far. Redness appeared after only a short ride. I can't imagine how it will be for longer rides or if using an hydratation backpack. A thicker undershirt is mandatory I guess (counterproductive with an UL jersey). I hesitated with the regular Brevet jersey. The colours palette made me chose this product even if It meant losing the practical ballast pocket. So far, I'm not happy with my decision.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High vis. Nice fit. A winner in the heat. I have owned a regular Rapha Brevet Jersey in merino-rich sports wool for several months. It is great, and served me well during the cooler winter months in Adelaide, Australia. The Lightweight Brevet Jersey is, for me, an ideal summer riding garment. I really like the fact that it is so high vis; but the pink is not over-bearing due to nice styling. Paired with Rapha Navy Brevet Bib Shorts & socks (that have pink piping), and white Rapha Sunscreens, it is a winner. I rode 150km today in 30 degree C heat, and it performed well. Yes, I had to unzip up larger hills, but overall I was not too hot and it also protected me perfectly from sunburn. The fit is nice, and although it lacks the drawcord that the regular Brevet Jersey has, it doesn't seem to move around too much and the silicone gripper does its job. Rear pockets are big, and you can cram a lot into them. The addition of a small zip pocket on the right hand side is excellent, and is perfect for cash/credit cards; although a notable omission (in comparison to the regular Brevet Jersey) is the front 'Brevet Card' pocket. The arms a slightly longer than usual, and I like that as it means that you don't need to have your arm screens very high up your arm (as they can get tight). Would highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Jersey for all conditions This is the first Brevet Jersey I purchase and I think it's a great Jersey if you don't need a lot of protection from the elements. Really nice design and the fabric is Ok for our rides which are really humid and hot. Whish they would make them in a couple more color combos specially the fluo ones.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loose arm sleeve The arm is loose. My arm are not thin. Rode in the rain, one side of the sleeve became longer.

Is this jersey meant for hot weather? Just like the super lightweight and pro team jersey collections?

Asked by: kennyleow
Hi, as we all regulate temperature differently it is hard to advise on the temperature range for individuals and differing exertion levels will also affect it's properties. However, the Brevet Jersey was tested during the Tour of Ara, a 700km race in South Africa - so was worn during notoriously hard, and challenging, conditions.

Regarding the thickness and feel of the fabric, would you say it's comparable to the super lightweight jersey or closer to the pro team?

Asked by: Dogmatic13
Hi, this jersey feels more comparable to the Super Lightweight Jersey than the Pro Team Jersey.

Hi, Is the sizing the same as the current crop of jerseys (i.e. really short at the front like the classics jersey 2)? Or more like the old style brevets?

Asked by: Ratthink
Hi, the sizing of the Brevet range is similar to the previous season.
