Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great top layer! Bought the gilet as part of the Brevet bundle and I was pleasantly surprised by the utility of a piece of cycling wear I thought lacked real purpose. Boy was I wrong; this piece works well in cold weather conditions to provide the wind protection that adds several degrees to your internal warmth. Used it today with a Rapha merino turtleneck base layer, and Brevet jersey in 30 degree temps and was very comfortable. Zipper pull could be larger to facilitate use with gloves; maybe I will adjust to it with time. Overall, very pleased and now I get to use the word "gilet" in casual conversation. ;-)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for fall rides The High Vis is the stand out feature. It's visible from a considerable distance. Fit is very snug. I normally wear smalls in Rapha and this is the closest fitting product. There is no wind flapping when riding which I like. Warm is a 6/10- I own a thermal vest from a different company and I really enjoy that. I wish this high vis option would be available in this colorway. The tail tends to creep up a bit and I wish there were zippers on the side of the gilet so you could access your jersey pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brevet Gilet Review Super lightweight gilet that fits perfectly and does its job as advertised. Packs down small enough to fit in the ballast pocket of a Brevet Jersey. This is the only piece of Rapha apparel that I own to date that I am conscious of wearing because it does its job so well. When I need to take the chill of the wind off, I put this on. The ventilation is superb as well. I wear a large jersey and I was concerned that a large gilet would be a bit restricting. The large gilet fits very comfortably. The high visibility strips work well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks good, works well. I ordered this direct from Rapha, with their usual prompt delivery and nice packaging. It feels nice - very lightweight but perfect when reamed up with my classic jersey, and classic arm warmers on cool evenings. Another factor in choosing was the bright panel on the back and reflective stripes - I ordered the blue one as I think hi-vis is a bit dorky, but I'd still prefer to be seen by traffic on twilight rides. I ordered a large size, as I take large in Rapha classic jerseys and T shirts. It fits nicely, but there's a tiny bit of flapping on the shoulders, but I can live with that. Overall, a good buy, I'm very happy with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Useful and compact gilet I've been using this regularly the past 4 months including riding on some cooler days and passes in NZ, even recently with the earlier cooler summer mornings we have had in Sydney. It's okay with a short light drizzle but it is not waterproof in rain. With the black the reflective strip still makes it very visible. It folds up nicely and fits well in the back pocket. Just make sure if putting into the back pocket, pack it in properly as the material type makes it work it's way out easily with the wind. I lost it on ride tucking into a descent but lucky it was spotted it on the way back. I bought a Medium i'm 5'10 chest 38" chest - waist 32" The fit is perfect and no flapping when descending. Overall it looks and fits nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A nice looking Gilet. I managed to buy this Gilet at a competitive price. This helps my review somewhat as I feel it offered good value for money, however the Gilet does tend to occasionally rise up at the back. I'm L/XL so sized for an XL to account for layers underneath. Its a good fit so I'm happy with that. The product does gather sweat marks on the fabric and they don't disappear unless you wash the item. I'm loathed to wash it too much as I imagine the reflective part will begin to wear away over time. It does provide a good barrier to the wind which is what it is designed for. It packs relatively small but looks a little bulky once in your pocket. I would recommend this product if it is priced competitively, otherwise I would say it is ok and does perform well for its intended use. Overall I like the design its one of the better designed products from Rapha. I tried an orange/black Gilet but it just doesn't look right on larger lads. You'l look like a Tango'd Bee!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indispensable piece of clothing This gilet was purchased to compliment the short sleeved black brevet jersey I already own. This design is a great improvement over the previous multi band option and gives the garment a much more classic finish, even in almost hi vis green. The fit is good and in accordance with Raphas recommendation, although you could effectively go one size smaller due to stretch in the fabric. This however might effect how much rear pocket 'stuff' you could access on the go.All in all an excellent and indispensable piece of kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit and super bright! Super light and comfortable gilet, just what I was looking for to handle the southern California "cold" winter mornings. Is on at the start of the ride at about 45F and then goes to the pocket. Fits really good, nothing loose. I'm 6'1, 164 pounds and I like how the medium fits me. Also, I got the grey/green to match my Brevet jersey and is very bright. I love it!

Hello, Can you tell me the appx weight of the Brevet Gilet compared to the Rapha Gilet. I see that the material in Brevet is lighter and has more mesh. Wondering what the difference in weight would be a pack able size?

Asked by: Jake F
Hi, this gilet is slightly lighter than the Rapha Gilet. It weighs approximately 100g. Both of these gilets will pack easily into a jersey pocket.

Hi. I was wondering how the Brevet Gilet compares to the standard Rapha Gilet? Do they use the same fabric? What about water resistance? Cheers

Asked by: Unkoolios 13
Hi, both Gilets offer wind and water resistance. The Brevet Gilet has mesh panels on the side and back, thus offering improved breathability. The Rapha Gilet will offer slightly better water and wind resistance, but has only one mesh panel on the back.

Is this the same sizing as the Rapha Gilet or the Pro Team Gilet. I'm a L in the Rapha Gilet but an XL in the Pro Team Gilet.

Asked by: Danny P
Hi, while the Brevet gilet is a little more relaxed to reflect the nature and position of endurance riding the fit is similar to the Classic Rapha gilet.

If I'm a lrg in my cycling tops , would I still need a lrg brevet, or do I need to go up a size as its worn over the top ?

Asked by: Coxy
Hi, you do not need to size up for the gilet. The cut allows for 'same size'

Does this product complies to BS EN 1150 Standards ? (High Visibilit Clothing for Non-Professional Use )

Asked by: Sotiris
Hi, I'm afraid the gilet does not have EN150 certification.
