Last year the RCCLDN chapter hosted its first road race, with great success. This year their second road race is taking place in Saffron Walden, Essex, on August 21st. At a distance of 120km and with a strong field of over 60 riders the race will be a Regional A level race (cat 2,3,4), run as part of the Eastern Road Race League.
There is still a chance for RCC members to get involved over the course of the weekend.

Saturday 20th August
RCCAMS members, led by their chapter coordinator Jesse, will be riding over from Amsterdam on Saturday 20th August and RCCLDN members will be meeting them off their boat at Harwich at 07:00am, before riding over to the race HQ. Riders are welcome to join the ride along the route, more details can be found on the app and forum.
On Saturday night, RCCAMS members will be staying in a traditional Essex road club hut and RCC members are welcome to ride up for the weekend and join the team for the night – there are extra accommodation spaces. For those that are staying there will be a BBQ in the evening.
Sunday 21st August
The race circuit is near Saffron Walden and the H-Van will be situated at the Race HQ, serving coffee and refreshments.
A series of rides will be leaving London early Sunday morning to make the start of the race. These rides will be leaving from Vauxhall via Woodford and another heading from Whetstone. Please check the app for further details or to view the routes click the links below.
In addition there will be a van leaving Rapha HQ on Sunday morning, for those wishing to use this van, please place your details on this form. There is also the option to take the train from London Liverpool Street.
