Each year, the day before the pros take on the course proper, roughly 5,000 cyclists attempt to ride the infamous cobbled secteurs of Paris-Roubaix. Named the Paris-Roubaix Challenge, this sportive in northern France allows amateurs to experience the bone-shaking pavé of the Hell of the North for themselves, often while enduring the tempestuous weather of a northern European spring.
This year, twenty RCC members rode the 170km Paris-Roubaix Challenge on Saturday 9th April, closely followed by an RCC support car. The next day, legs weary, they gathered at the Rapha Mobile Cycle Club on the roadside of the course to watch the pros pass by, enjoying well-earned beer and frites.
