Ride winter miles in comfort

Ease the burden of winter miles with the Pro Team Training Jacket, which offers the comfort of a jersey and the protection of a jacket. When you are riding hard in low temperatures, breathability and protection from the elements is essential. The Pro Team Training Jacket’s front panel uses a Polartec Powershield softshell fabric with a perforated membrane and DWR (durable water repellency) to protect you from the elements while a breathable stretch back panel that has also been treated with DWR helps regulate your temperature. A high-cut waist at the front and lower hem at the back provides a streamlined Pro Team fit. There are several reflective features on the jacket: the armband and logo on the collar, Pro Team ‘Convict Stripes’ on the rear, as well as bars on the sleeves. Be comfortable and be seen, deep into winter.

NB: The Pro Team Training Jacket is not fully waterproof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect cycling jacket for cool to even mild temps I'm 178 cm (5'10), 86.5 kg (191 lbs). The XL in this Pro Team Training Jacket fits just fine.. The body and sleeves provide a snug, yet comfortable fit. At higher speeds, there is no excess fabric flapping about. The bottom of the back of the jacket extends to provide coverage when I am in the drops and generally stays there with the grippers in the inside. The jacket has a small zippered pocket on the left hand side to tuck away your keys, but nothing bigger. The 3 pockets in the bag provide ample storage. My only knock would be that the zipper (pull) itself could be a tad bigger. Today at the start of my ride, the temperature was 55 degrees F (12.8 Celsius), and over the course of my ride, it got up to 68 F (20 C), yet I wasn't burning up in the jacket (Unzippered all the way on ascents and zipped 3/4 up on descents). My body normally runs hot, so I was impressed at how this jacket doesn't overheat the rider. Also, the wicking of perspiration is very effective on this jacket. I got the blue/blue colorway for this jacket, and it has grown on me... a nice change of color from my more 'standard Rapha black/gray' wardrobe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does exactly what it says on the tin Bought this jacket for use on those dry damp cold days when I was in between a full waterproof or long sleeve jersey plus arm warmers etc. Couldn't be happier with it, I have used it on days where it has been down to around 1 or 2 degrees with just a base layer underneath which didn't affect the fit of the jacket at all a very comfortable fit for me personally (I bought medium im 5'9'' 70kg) cuffs are nice and snug so no cold air sneaks up them either. Waterproof enough to keep me dry through light and relatively heavy showers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket. Classic Rapha product Have worn in on cold wet days. It's good above 4C but if you're riding for long and it's colder than that think about a warmer base layer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great winter kit 5ft10 66kg medium fit perfect for me. Works great -2degC to +8degC although does let a little windchill penetrate the arms but not enough to bother me in a tempo ride. Breathes great and works superbly with winter roll-neck base layer and pro team bib tights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never expected what I got Great bit of kit very technical piece of kit. Perfect with a base layer in from about 5 degrees c. I wasn't expecting it to be so good tbh. I was a little worried I'd ordered the wrong size when I first put it on but once on the bike it was perfect. It's certainly changed my opinion on rapha gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No need for any others! This is my second one. Just such a perfect jacket, worn today in sub zero and still warm and protective with a couple of under layers. Fit is perfect for me, even with broad shoulders. But for some reason the sizing has changed up a size. This one was XL which is exactly the same fit as my previous Training jacket which was a Large. So be aware if getting this version. I just don't need any other jacket in my cycle wardrobe. Even when soaked on a long very wet ride, it still is warm. I don't use fully waterproof unless im doing XC as you just get soaked from the inside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cut and fit I thought the classic kit was good, this is another level

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great balance A great balance between keeping the elements out but still letting your body heat out. Usually a size L,which I had in this and it fits perfectly

How often should this jacket be re-proofed?

Asked by: Ben O
Hi, there is no exact time frame for re-proofing. The best advice is to re-proof the jacket when water is no longer beading on the surface of the jacket. Other than the water-resistance, the other functionality of the jacket will be unaffected if you do not re-proof regularly.

Is Polartec fabric actually used in this jacket? The product description doesn't mention it, unlike the Pro Team Softshell. The stated fabric composition has also changed from previous versions of this jacket.

Asked by: MrB123
Hi, this jacket is made using a version of Polartec Power Shield Pro.

I am xxl, will this jacket fit ok over my normal xxl shirt.

Asked by: Gw27
Hi, this jacket will fit well over your normal xx-large base layer. It is not usually worn over a jersey but would fit over a Pro Team jersey if worn in very cold conditions.

Hello, I have a past model of the PT jacket in a darker orange and wear a medium, my typical Rapha fit.  Considering a grey also as I wear these a ton.  past model is an excellent fit for me with a single base.  Would I size similar with this model?

Asked by: Jake F
Hi, the fit in this new model is the same as it has been for the past few seasons. We recommend you choose the same size.

What's the difference between this and the pro team soft shell?

Asked by: Luminor
Hi, both these jackets are intended for autumn/ winter/ spring use and have a close fit. However, the Pro Team Softshell is highly water resistant and will perform better on a wet ride whilst the Pro Team Training Jacket is more breathable, making it a natural choice on rides in cold/mild and dry/changeable conditions.
