For cross racing and off-road exploring

Cyclocross racers demand a lot from their footwear – traction for scrambling up steep slopes, stiffness for short and sharp accelerations, and the durability to withstand post-race hose downs. The Rapha Cross Shoe, produced in collaboration with Giro of California, has been constructed with these challenges in mind.

The sole is Giro’s race-worthy carbon EC90, complemented by dual-compound treads for grip when running with the bike – there are two holes for screw-in studs for the muddiest terrains. The upper consists of a robust synthetic leather, capped with an abrasion-resistant rubber at the front and back, all secured by two hook-and-loop fasteners and the same machined aluminium buckle found on Rapha GT Shoes.

The insole makes use of Giro’s SuperNatural™ fit system, and is supplied with a number of cork insteps to fine-tune the footbed. Rapha Cross Shoes are compatible with any two-bolt cleat system.

NB: Please only try the shoes on a carpeted surface without cleats, as we are unable to accept returns with scratched or scuffed soles, thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic commuter shoe Bought these to replace a pair of shimano MTB shoes I use for commuting to work and riding on my cross bike (no CX racing though). Rode them over in Thailand on a MTB Tour for 7 days and over 500km with no issues. Very comfortable, solid, and quite waterproof. If it was pouring with rain at the outset I'd still want to put on overshoes, but if you get caught in a downpour halfway home or there are showers on your ride your feet stay dry. Well certainly more dry than any other shoe I've ever used in any cycling discipline. As I said, never used in CX racing but given the above I'm sure they'd repel mud well and do the job. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best cycling shoes ever. One thing I was not anticipating with these shoes is recently while riding on the North Shore of Ouahu I found myself in a monsune rain storm. The shoes were soaking wet and still super awesome. I use these shoes for CX as well as Mtn Biking. Even though these are the most expensive shoes I own, I would not hesitate wearing them in mud and sand and dirt and then just spray them off, dry them out, and repeat again and again. Thanks Rapha for making such high quality products. Brad Remington, Calgary Canada

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superbly made Shoes I purchased these shoes in the summer. They are extremely comfortable and very well made. They are a little warm for the South in the U.S. but are proving to be perfect for the colder weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes Stylish and great comfort especially due to the different insteps provided along with the shoes and the inside material of the heel piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shoes ever! These shoes are great! The best I ever have had! Love them!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Firm and good shape Well, the edges of the sole is too high if you are using an SPD cleat. (who does that in CX?) First worked with my Shimano XTR Race M9000 after I cut them down. Besides, stylish shoe. Sitting nicely on foot and the replaceable shank system is great. The outer edges are a bit high compared to a road or MTB shoe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from solid cross shoe with great style These shoes are very supportive and comfortable. I love the subtle styling. They appear to be fairly bombproof (I just got them, so we'll se after this cross season is over). They aren't the lightest shoes, but when you compare their weight with lightest on the market, the difference is minuscule, and I think the increased stability is worth it.

Asked by: Templeton
Hi, The Cross shoes are not compatible with Look or any other road cleat system. The shoe is for off road purposes and as such compatible with such cleat systems as SPD, Egg Beaters, ETC.
