Protective neoprene overshoes for wet-weather riding

On the harshest winter days, cold, wet feet can seriously affect your riding performance. A vital part of any winter riding wardrobe, Rapha's overshoes are made from 100% neoprene and have been designed to keep even the heaviest spray at bay.

A reverse coil zip complements an updated ankle gripper, keeping the overshoe in place and reducing water penetration. The sole of the overshoe has a ribbed opening for the heel and cleat of a road shoe, and is reinforced by an abrasion-resistant Kevlar sole. A contrast pink care label is printed inside.

Please note: Rapha Overshoes have been specifically designed to be worn with road shoe cleat systems. Wearing them with MTB shoes, including the Rapha Cross Shoes, is likely to damage the Overshoes beyond repair.

Sizing Guide

Sizes range between Small to Extra Large. Above is a guide for UK, US, EU and Japanese measurements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toasty warm I haven't yet had the opportunity to try these in the rain or snow so I can't speak to the waterproof claims, but with on the last 2 rides (50km and 75 km) in temps below 6 Celsius my feet were not remotely cold even once. In fact, they were borderline too warm, but I blame that on the thicker winter DeFeet socks I wore as a precaution. I can see these being great into much colder temperatures with the same socks. They're snug-fitting, as they should be, so it takes a small bit of fussing to get them on and off, but not an unreasonable amount. They seem well-constructed and sturdy—I'm hoping to get a few years' good use from them. They're not the cheapest overshoe out there, but I don't regret the extra spent one bit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You can't miss me on the road! I absolutely love the colour, and my feet are always warm. I have received many compliments and I would highly recommend. I have size 6 sidi shoes and the small fits like a glove over top. My only (slight) issue, is that I'm 5'1 and the zippers on these booties do not zip all the way to the top for me because my calves are quite large and seem to end where the booties start because I am so short. I imagine if you're taller and/or have smaller ankles, it shouldn't be an issue. Even with the zippers not quite closing, there is a black velcro strap at the top that secures them in place, so they're truly excellent.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice insulation, poor cut After reading all reviews, I ordered a size M for a pair of S-Works road shoes (size 42). However, I still spent 20 minutes to put on for the first time. Really strange cut around the cleats, especially for my time xpresso. You may tell from the third photo of the product how strange the hole position is. It took a lot of efforts to pull sole over the cleat, and made me sweat more than ride at 40kph.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Usual excellent Rapha quality Bought for me as a birthday present to replace a pair of long worn out neoprene overshoes. These are different in that they dont claim to be waterproof, but instead are very close fitting booties that will keep your feet insulated once water works its way in - which it does with all overshoes, I know, I've worn loads out and none of them are truly waterproof (bit hard with holes in the bottom and a big hole in the top!)...anyway these overshoes are well made, very tight fitting and so far so good. Only minor gripe is I feel the velcro fastener around the ankle could be tighter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good overshoe, snug fit. I bought these for my wife. She wears a size 6 road shoe. In the search for the ideal overshoes we bought 7 different types of various makes ranging from £25 to over £80. These were the only ones to fit round her lower calf, around the ankle and with enough clearance around the cleat to easily clip in. I ordered a small (3-6) and a medium (6-8) and the small just about fits. It is very tight and was initially difficult to get on but now she knows the knack they're fine. On a 20 mile commute in the rain her feet did get wet, however they were warm. After much deliberation she went for Hi-Vis pink which are LOUD but she loves them. She also tried the Rapha winter overshoe in small and medium and they were too small and too big. The lack of stretch in that fabric meant the small would not fit on the shoe.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good warmth I have ridden in these now for about 250 kms. Good warmth. Good rain protection. Fit however was not quite what I was looking for. They are too 'baggy' around the ankle, and I worry the soles will wear out much faster than my previous overshoes. Overall, good warmth, fit not what I have come to expect from rapha gear.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Strange fit / sizing Kinda disappointed. Love my Rapha gear but found the sizing strange. Worn once....Tight with little clearance around my cleats but loose around the ankles and walked on material around the heels. Kept the water out on a wet ride.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seem pretty good. I initially bought the large and found there was no way these would fit size 44 Bont Vaypor+. I've since exchanged for XL which fit over the shoes. There's a little bunching around the speedplay cleats but it doesn't foul the mechanism, or sit proud of the cleat and scuff against the floor when off the bike. I've docked one star because the cuff at the top is loose around my spindly legs. My ideal fit would be a stretchier version of the Large. But - I'm happy with them. Warm and enough waterproofing to hold off some spray. Build quality seems very good.

If I used a Medium in the Pro Team Rain Overshoes would it be correct to say a Medium in the Overshoes would be just the same?

Asked by: jodygrigg
Hi, we recommend you choose the same size in all of our overshoes and oversocks.

Between what temperatures would you recommend these, and the same with the deep winter shoes? Thank you.

Asked by: Nkadisha
Hi, it is always difficult to advise an exact temperature range as it depends on your own temperature regulation and exertion level. We recommend you use the overshoes in temperatures from 1/2-10 degrees celsius. The Deep Winter Overshoes are for use in conditions below 5 degrees celsius and are even more weather resistant.

Hi Rapha I was wondering if the overshoes are designed to go over winter boots aswell as shoes??

Asked by: Coldfeet Kurt
Hi, it will depend on how bulky the winter shoes are but you may need to size up if you'd like to do this. I hope that helps.

Hi Rapha. I just bought the reflective oversocks but they are extremely hard to get on and off and not quite what I'm looking for. I would like to try the overshoes but unsure of size. My Shimano shoes are size 39.

Asked by: Miss_Andrea
Hi, we would recommend you try a Medium in the Overshoes. Also, the Oversocks should loosen up over time.

Asked by: RGny
Hi, if you are a 7/7.5 a size Medium should be suitable. We do have a free 90 day returns period should you need to exchange.

I recently purchased these for the winter riding in So Cal, however I have a question on fitting.  I have the L which fit fine over my shoes, however the ankle/lower calf fit is much too big.  Is this normal?

Asked by: Christopher M C
Hi, as we all differ in shape and form there can be some difference in fit around the calf and ankle meaning the fit can seem loose, or in fact tight on some individuals. Our sizing is based on a 'sweet spot' which will hopefully accommodate all sizes to a degree.
