Rated 4 von 5 von aus Healthy Eating I bought Vélochef more out of intreque, to see how pros eat and to see if there was perhaps a couple of more healthy things I could put into my own diet. The book is full of very practical, easy to follow recipes that are in no way above and beyond what any average person could rustle up in their own kitchen. The only small downside is some of the recipes are for large quantities and assume you're preparing food for a team. Apart from that, a well presented, useful book that now sits alongside Jamie and Nigella in my kitchen. A worthwhile buy.

Rated 4 von 5 von aus A great resource I've been trying to compliment my training with a radically improved diet, so I decided to give Vélochef a try. The book is really well put together and blends recipes, culinary tips and cycling content very nicely together. What I love is how simple most of the recipes are. They're easy and fast to make. The advice is also transferrable to your broader cooking skills, since it's full of information about the ingredients and why some are better than others. There are some grammatical errors, things not translated at all, and some of the recipes really weren't my thing. But all in all, a definite recommendation.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus A sublime publication, which exceeds expectation In quite new to cycling as a hobby and being about to set off on my first cycling holiday I wanted some advice on nutrition and diet, so why not start with the best advice possible. The author ( Henrick Orre) discusses all of these in terms of pre-ride, during, and post-ride. There are several recipes which are beautifully photographed, something I find quite valuable being a visual person. This isn't just a cook book though, it's a coffee table book and a talking point too. Several friends have already picked it up and thumbed through it with some interest.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Buy This Book Apart from cycling, my other major interest is cooking and when I saw this book on the Rapha web site I had no hesitation in buying it. It is a great book and the stories and information are also enjoyable. The recipes are straightforward to follow and the food that I have cooked from it so far has been great. My wife goes to a personal trainer who is married to a Tennis Coach and she took the book along to them and they thought it was excellent and have also ordered one.

Easy recipes with a lot of items that are already in your food pantry. Beautiful stories embedded in between the cooking content. Really easy breeze to read through.

Rated 5 von 5 von aus What a great idea! This is my first cycling specific cookbook! It's outstanding! I have made several of the recipes and really enjoyed the ideas! I realized I am not eating enough before my long rides! I average 30 miles a few times a week and in summers, 50 miles as often as possible! I love the sun! And spinning! I do think this is geared toward someone with a little bit of kitchen experience. One recipe for example, the mushroom risotto, was delicious and filling, but didn't mention stove temperatures at all or times. I assumed to put it on high and reduce to simmer and it turned out great, but for someone who doesn't cook, this omission might have been confusing. I can't wait to make the lasagna & tiramisu. I'm looking forward to using pineapple juice in the summers too! I loved the cycling photos as well. Gorgeous! The date truffles have been an incredible bike snack (and work snack)!

Rated 5 von 5 von aus Excellant insight to pro eating Read some bad reviews on this book, where they say not very good or content not that great. Well, I think the purpose of the book is to show what the professionals eat but more importantly show us everyday joe's how we can incorporate some of the professionals eating styles / habits in to our everyday eating. I have made two of the recipes, Rice bars are fantastic, Date Syrup is awesome. Give it ago.

Rated 4 von 5 von aus Easy to follow and insightful Have managed to complete 5 of the recipes already having owned the book for 1 week. Very easy to follow recipes, all with time and quality in mind making it relative to cycling alongside everyday life. only issue is a few ingredients are more difficult to find and not available in the big 4 supermarkets but require a trip to health food store. Well worth it though.

Hi, there are some recipes suitable for vegetarians and many of the recipes can be adapted for vegetarians.
