We seek out the roads less travelled, aiming to be quite remote at times. The surface will be mixed, with sections ranging from perfect black tarmac to rugged gravel. The full route will be revealed, only to confirmed participants, 48 hours before the ride.
Riders must bring team spirit, an adventurous mind-set and strong legs. There are no prizes for first place and finishing times will not be recorded. This truly is a test of camaraderie and teamwork.
Road helmets and drop bars are required – No TT helmets or TT bars. We recommend 25mm or 28mm tyres for extra resilience against punctures as a substantial portion of the route will take place off road. We strongly recommend teams use wheels with aluminium brake tracks with clincher tyres.
Teams must carry their own spares and be completely self-sufficient. Minimum kit should include two tubes, multi-tool, pump, patch kit, and a chain-tool and link per rider. Highly recommended kit also includes spare food, a GPS bike computer in addition to supplied brevet card, and one spare tyre per team. Be prepared to dress for the heat and rain of the tropics. This event is completely unsupported. You are responsible for keeping yourself and your team going.
