Photos (from Mr Rhys Howells) are from Saturday 26th October's ride into Essex, so this weekend sees another foray into the depths of Surrey, on a new route outlined below.

Tenspeed Hero Gallery

By Jeremy Dunn • 23rd August 2012 • Posted in Cycle Club

This Saturday evening, August 25th, the Rapha Cycle Club San Francisco presents 21 Stages TDF Illustrations by Rebecca Gosling. All the style, color and drama from the 2012 Tour de France will come to life through Rebecca's illustrations displayed in print form on the walls of the Cycle Club. The exhibition comes courtesy of Tenspeed Hero, but what is a "Tenspeed Hero"? We spent a few days with the Heroes in their Chicago headquarters this July in an attempt to find out. Some questions were answered, others were not. But, whatever the case, please stop by the Rapha Cycle Club, San Francisco and see the installation there.

USA Pro Cycling Challenge - Tejay

By Joe Hall • 22nd August 2012 • Posted in Cycle Club

The sound of the crowd is almost deafening as the BMC rider makes his way towards the finish line in the middle of the Crested Butte ski resort. The jumbo-tron above the crowds are depicting the attacks that are taking place on the mountain below. Colombian rider (and the favourite name written in road paint) Camilo Castiblanco of EPM - UNE rockets forward and the drumming on the barriers becomes impossibly louder. It seems as though the South American has done it. Until, suddenly, he hasn't and BMC's Mathias Frank appears out of nowhere, jukes to the left and drops Castiblanco.

USA Pro Cycling Challenge - Durango

By Jeremy Dunn • 21st August 2012 • Posted in Cycle Club

To say that Durango is crazy about bikes is a bit of an understatement. While waiting for the gun that would signal the start of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge to go off, a quick look around showed us that cycling fans were everywhere. Over to the left was a father telling his two young sons about the speeds these cyclists would reach on their parade laps through Durango. Just near his elbow a trio of girls in Fort Lewis College sweatshirts marveling in similar fashion. There were bankers who slyly put out their "Gone for Lunch" signs and construction workers on break from some unseen building site. The word on the street was that the local school district had even pushed back starting their school year for the coming of this race.

There were fireworks in Durango, Colorado last night. The forest fires and subsequent ban on fire and fireworks earlier this summer prevented the town from enjoying their 4th of July in this most traditional manner. However, there was enough cause for celebration this evening as the USA Pro Cycling Challenge gets ready to head out of this beautiful city early tomorrow.

London Cycle Club Opening Night

The hotly anticipated Rapha Cycle Club London opened its doors to a big group of friends on Friday night. Over 350 people squeezed into the new place for some fine wine, beer, and a host of gourmet treats. The place was so busy, in fact, that many couldn't hear the accordion player hired to serenade the club-goers. One of the highlights of the evening was watching a replay of the day's Tour stage, a huge roar going up as the big screens showed Mark Cavendish rocket to victory in Brive-la-Gaillarde.
