Cross-specific cycling bib shorts

Inspired by the hardy cyclocross racers of Europe and North America, Rapha’s Cross ¾ Bib Shorts have been designed to meet the demands this unique cycle sport places on both riders and equipment. Providing the same unrivalled fit as Rapha’s regular ¾ Bib Shorts, the cross version use a lighter fabric that is more suited to cross racing but equally strong.

A full back panel offers greater protection against the elements, while mesh panels on the upper back and shoulder straps help regulate body temperature. A zipped key pocket in the lower back is lined with neoprene padding to guard against injury in the event of a fall. Tricolor panels on the shins give the shorts a distinctive look and the left knee has a Rapha logo. To prevent chafing, flatlock stitching is used throughout and the shorts are finished with gripper on the legs. Care labels are positioned away from the skin, again to prevent rubbing.

Our test pair have a few nicks and exposed threads after the odd battle with a bramble bush, but no more than is to be expected in the tough and tumble of ‘cross riding over inhospitable terrain. And they’ve had hundreds of miles of off-road rough and tumble to deal with, and still look pretty much brand new.
