Our ultimate jacket and the culmination of 12 years of development, with the DNA of our first ever jacket running through it. The Special Edition Classic Winter Jacket is an evolution of the Classic Softshell and the Hardshell. We’ve continued the Classic Softshell’s trademark offset zip, shoulder patches and fit and introduced a totally new fabric that is both breathable and waterproof. Then we taped the seams, to provide additional protection from the elements.

The most versatile foul weather jacket we’ve ever made

The Special Edition Classic Winter Jacket has been developed as a do-all outer layer to withstand the harshest cycling conditions, on any kind of ride. The ideal garment for winter base miles, wear it on training rides in the wet, or all-day adventures in the cold. The jacket has ample storage for food and tools with three large pockets on the rear and a separate waterproof pocket for valuables. An adjustable hi-vis shock cord on the hem and elastane inner cuffs keep the jacket sealed, providing extra protection against harsh winter winds.

Cut from a breathable fabric that transfers moisture vapour away from the skin and with underarm zippers for added ventilation, the Special Edition Classic Winter Jacket works hard to prevent you overheating even during the hardest efforts. A stowable drop tail has hi-vis detailing for rides in low light, and reflective elements on the shoulders and cuffs offer further visibility.

Body sizing

Chest: measure underneath the armpits with the tape measure straight around.
Back Length: measure from the bottom of where your collar sits/base of the neck to the bottom of your spine.
Arm length: measure from where the seam would start at shoulder to bottom of the wrist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love love love! I must confess that I often just put it on and look at myself in the mirror...its so beautiful! However, I haven't properly tested it yet. It was a gift which arrived at the start of the summer and the conditions haven't allowed me to test it in the foulest weather. Nonetheless I am in no doubt that when I do get out in inclement weather it will do the business. I am a particular fan of the drop down flap, the cuffs are excellent and the unarm zips will go some way to alleviating the effects of heat, which at this point is my only concern.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seriously good I bought this a month ago in preparation for the up coming Sydney winter. So far, I have worn this over a long sleeve merino base layer and it has been perfect at temperatures at around 6C degrees. I get the feeling it will be good at temperatures much lower than this, though. It has a quality wide zip on the front so it is easy to adjust ventilation on the jacket to regulate temperatures and it means that the jacket has been comfortable even as high as 12C (although anything higher than that will certainly be too hot). I have only used the jacket in light rain and it has certainly kept me dry from the outside. I haven't noticed any of the water leak issues others have mentioned. On sizing, it is right that this runs slightly larger than usual pro team sizing. I am 175cm and 78kgs and an M is slightly loose (but certainly not at a level that flaps around). This size is good if you need to layer up. But if not you may want to think about sizing down. All in all I am really happy with this jacket, even if it is super expensive. But I have owned other high end jacket brands and nothing else has come close. Did I mention that it looks awesome?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket. The best piece of cycling clothing I've bought. Had the jacket for several weeks now and I am totally happy with it. I've worn it in temperatures down as low as 5 degrees with driving rain and it's preformed brilliantly. Very warm, breathable with the under arm vents helping to regulate body temperature. No concerns with the waterproofing either keeping me dry at all times. The fit is prefect as I'm not exactly a 'racing snake' at 176cm tall and weighing in at 75kg. I ordered a large and the cut allows plenty of room to layer up underneath with a base layer and a jersey on the coldest days. Styling and colour are also great have received position comments from others in the group. Don't get put off by the price... yes it's expensive but worth every penny. Owning many Rapha products all of which are high quality I will say this is the best so far and I will be back for more. Thanks Rapha great bit of kit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice wind breaker The jacket does a good aging those cold winters breeze, but fall short on wicking sweat. It can be cold once it is slightly wet on the surface ( i.e. Sweat came through to the surface and cold wind can be felt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Made a very good first impression A late spring snow/cold front here in the Rockies gave me a chance to try out the jacket on a short ride upper 30 degree temps (~4 deg C). This is my first Rapha jacket and the quality of construction meets the high standards I have come to expect of Raph based on their other fine products. I was very comfortable during exertion climbs wearing just a short sleeve jersey underneath and adjusting ventilation with the zipper, and coasting decents were bearable. I didn't accumulate any moisture inside and breathability seems as good or better than anything else I've ever used. Even though the fit initially seemed a bit loser than ideal, the nature of the fabric kept any buffeting or flapping to nearly non-existent, so perhaps the fit is spot-on after all. Only reason this doesn't get that 5th star is the price. If the jacket holds up well for 5 years or more then I'll be convinced it's well worth it, but until then it'll be in the "really nice if you can afford it" category...

Is this jacket much warmer than the Pro Team Training jacket?

Asked by: MrB123
Hi, this jacket is similarly warm to the Pro Team Training Jacket. However, it can be layered more than the Pro Team Training Jacket with the option to wear a warm base layer and thick jersey underneath.
