Technical fabric in a modern cut

If you are unsure of which style or cut of trouser to choose, take a look at our new City Legwear Fit Guide

The Rapha Loopback Trousers are made from a lightweight and durable nylon Pertex® fabric that has great stretch for comfort when riding. Created for active days in changeable conditions, the back of the fabric features a microscopic ‘loop’ construction, which increases the surface area and improves moisture transfer from the skin. The outside of the fabric is treated with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish, designed to keep you dry should you get caught out by the elements. The trousers have a modern cut, which tapers sharply below the knee. Hi-vis pink piping on the inside leg provides on-bike visibility when the trousers are rolled up. The trousers also feature a zipped rear pocket and an elasticated waistband with belt loops.

The cut of these Rapha City trousers is more generous than in previous seasons. For the perfect fit we recommend downsizing by one size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Awesome Surprise So I got these thinking they were like dress slacks and then realized they are more like a hybrid stretch pant. All I have to say is I like these way better than I could have imagined. I hope these start appearing in a variety of colors so I can stock up for commuting to work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect cold weather commute pants I was searching for cold weather commuter pants that were stylish and fitted. These were perfect. Warm enough to wear in low 40's upper 30's weather. Cut is perfect with enough room for normal to bigger thigh and good tapering at ankles such that I don't have to roll them up. I don't use the pockets much because the fit is a bit snug but there are plenty of them to carry phone wallet and keys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice pants! This is my third week of living in these pants and they disappear underneath, both at home and in the office. I have four Rapha riding trousers (the ones with the stretchy-but-scratchy fabric), and these are superior because they stretch a bit more and drape nicer. The new material, although thinner, is still as windproof and breathable, so they are good technical riding pants. No one will mistake these for real dress pants, but they work really well for the casual dress code typical of SF bay area offices. Still unknown: durability. I am glad to have gotten the ones with the wider legs (not the slim fit) as I can't imagine any "real cyclist" fitting into narrower pant legs. Maybe if I were after the yoga pants look... :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Commuter trousers Love them. They dry quickly and muddy spray off road and paths seems to brush off. smart enought to keep on when I get to the office. My wife also says they look good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best fit of any trouser I own. Perfect fit for on bike and off. I'll be buying them in all colours!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent pants These are everything I'd hoped for and more. Slim fit but not overly restrictive. Really well thought out pockets. The interior is a nice brushed finish. Just windproof enough to be comfortable over a wide range of temps but not too hot. Waterproof enough to get you through a decent quick rain storm.

Can I get the specifics of the fabric content? I see it is Pertex fabric but I don't know what that is made of. Any help with that? Thanks.

Asked by: Library Man
Hi, Pertex is made primarily of nylon, with the remaining content a mix of elastane and polyurethane.

Can the trouser legs be rolled up to just below the knees?  Is there enough slack in the cut and material to allow this??

Im a size 30 in Randonee Shorts and Rapha Jeans, should I size down? and also, what is the point of variable lenght, is it for a more elegant look?

Asked by: JPsr
Hi. We do suggest to size down from your regular sizing with the Loopback Trousers. The variable length is to accommodate those who have a longer or shorter leg lengths but the same size waist. We do have a free 90 days return period in order to exchange items if needed.
