GT Gloves

Rapha’s GT Gloves are the ultimate glove for the serious road cyclist. Made from super soft and breathable African Hair Sheep leather, they offer the confidence and feel of cycling bare-handed but with the highest levels of protection and comfort.

The leather is cut by skilled craftsmen, worked by hand for its characteristic texture and suppleness. The gloves are breathable and the natural fibre wicks sweat extremely effectively.

The gloves have road-specific padding with extra padding around the thumb and forefinger for those long hours spent riding on the hoods. Slim and unobtrusive, this high-density foam offers excellent shock absorption and control. Rapha’s GT Gloves are double stitched at key wear points for reinforcement and are fastened at the cuff with a velcro strap.

Leather gloves look and feel beautiful and get better with age. Buy them slightly tight and they will stretch to the shape of your hands for a perfect fit.

Please note: acid from sweat eats away at leather over time, so it’s important to wash the gloves, particularly if you’ve sweated them through on a ride and you notice the gloves losing moisture and malleability. Once washed and dried, glove balm should be applied to keep them supple.

"…and you have what arguably is the ultimate cycling glove. Certainly these say PRO even if our legs and bike handling do not. Rapha doesn’t stipulate any bar tape restrictions but these should come with a box of white tape and a white-tape-or-else warranty."

"I was in Normandy when one of the guys I used to race with in Belgium came up to me and said: ‘Cool gloves, man… like Merckx!’ You kinda catch people looking sideways or doing a double take when they see them, I guess because they’re so unlike any other gloves around. Very comfortable, they actually get better with use."
Kristian House, British National Road Race Champion 2009

Sizing Guide

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super supple and supremely comfortable ... The leather used to make these Rapha GT gloves is super supple and the padded palms make them supremely comfortable without adding too much bulk. The gloves feel great on and I'm very glad I invested in a pair because they make my cycle commute all the more enjoyable. Unfortunately, I had to return the first pair I ordered because they came up a little small (compared to the leather Town gloves I own) but I'm sure the replacements will feel even better with age as they shape more and more to my hands. I would highly recommend these gloves to all road cyclists, whether for leisure or competitive use. 10 out of 10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality and Durability. I spent a year looking at these gloves wondering if they were worth the price, which is more than some of my Rapha jerseys. I was having difficulty with my then current brand causing some problems for me on long rides, I had used my Rapha Pro Team mitts on two prior Cent Cols Challenges without issues and wanted a nicer pair so I made the plunge for the GT Gloves. I will never, never wear a different glove now. Great fit, easy to care for and after washing and they dry when I put them back open they feel like new. I have been wearing mine for three months now with out any visible signs of wear and I ride about 400 miles per week.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great looking but have issues with comfort I bought a pair one year ago. One of the gloves developed tears in the seams after relatively few rides. Rapha replaced them without question and I now have the replacement pair. The main issue I have is the the stitching around the cutout for the knuckles is abrasive. The first pair eventually softened but was still abrasive. Partly the reason for the few rides in them over a year. The replacement pair is the same. The gloves are not too small. They fit as I would expect given my experience with multiple cycling gloves over decades. It's the stitching that is the problem. Gloves this expensive should feel like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding, must have After more than 10 orders I've got a request: Imperial Works is asking for "Review your Rapha products". For the first time. Why now? What has happened? Ok let's go. GT gloves, white, I have two pairs of them. Have seen 20 thousend km use. Size M is very tight for my knuckles 23 cm circumference, size L too wide. Quality: outstanding, must have Price: shamelessly overcharged Sizing: is more a random principle Other: Products of insufficient quality, fabric or or sizing +/- than announced cannot (!) be reviewed by customers. Please excuse my german accent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Pair - Unfortunately Recently received my new pair of white gloves which I haven't worn yet as I am recovering from an accident, I had concussion & didn't realise that the hospital had cut the gloves off !!! (Anyone out there who thinks helmets shouldn't be mandatory should think again) My last pair, Black, Size L were perfect, broken in beautifully for 2 seasons & fitted like a glove, PTP!! The gloves give a great feel & are very soft through the palm & come back to shape easily when washed Still can't believe they cut them off, anyway a nice new pair to break in shortly. Roland

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Less than expected This is the one Rapha purchase that I wasn't pleased with. I had to get the stitching repaired almost immediately & did that rather than returning them b/c the color was already 'not white' but that was expected & my fault. Also, even with proper maintenance, they're just not the best fitting or most comfortable. They did look very cool for my first ride though.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very comfortable but I question durability I really like the design of these gloves, they look great and are extremely comfortable. I do have an issue with the high price tag, but of more concern was their poor durability. I wore a new pair of GT gloves for the Raid Pyrenees this year and by the end of 1 week, they look wrecked. Not even washing in warm water and using the Rapha leather balm helped restore them. The pair I had before lasted a lot longer. Don't let your high standards slip Rapha!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Age better than a fine wine! OK, so they need more TLC and maintenance than a pair of gloves that you can throw in the wash with the rest of your kit. OK, you can't wipe your sweat or snot with them. But the investment in shaping them and in keeping them fed and watered with glove balm is worth it. They eventually conform to your hands perfectly and provide brilliant grip in the wet and dry. Having had the misfortune to crash in them, the leather on the palm is incredibly hardwearing. Pus, the white looks badass when it ages and discolours. In these days of disposable products, these are a long term investment.
