The new standard in lightweight outer layers

The Core Rain Jacket is the ideal outer layer for rides with a chance of rain and wind. Extremely lightweight, it folds down small to comfortably fit in your back pocket, ready to be whipped out when it starts raining or the wind picks up. Colour matched throughout, the jacket has a clean, refined finish with collar tipping and a subtly stitched-in Rapha armband.

The jacket has fully taped seams and an AquaGuard® zip for waterproofing. Six ventilation holes under the armpits allow heat to escape if you’re riding hard while the on-bike fit is aided by an adjustable draw cord at the hem and elasticated inner cuffs, which ensure a perfect fit on your wrists. Reflective elements have also been applied to the sleeves and rear for improved visibility on the roads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit and waterproofness I bought this jacket with the rain Core bundle , which I find is great deal. This jacket fits me perfectly for a summer rain jacket. I have tested it in our great Scottish summer, which it has taken a battering and it has kept me dry to the end, the water just rolls off. This was only on ride for about 2 hours , so can't speak for anything longer. Breathability seems good too, I was wet with sweat a little but it was still 18deg , so not cold . I got in a lovely red colour, not too overpowering. I'm about 5' 6" with a 36" chest and fits me perfectly.with Core jersey, mid weight base layer and HR strap it starts to get a bit tight but know where constricting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally waterproof Even though Rapha gear is expensive its probably justified by the quality. Totally water proof, sized correctly (I fluctuate between L-XL 14stone 5'11). Gets me out more on the bike which is always a bonus

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality rain jacket I purchased this for the sole purpose of keeping me dry during winter. The jacket is of good quality which is to be expected from Rapha. The jacket is light and does not restrict movement when pushing hard. I have been caught in one shower and the jacket did the job I wanted, keeping me dry. Overall happy with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket Was recently in Italy for the Maratona Dles Dolomiti. Had to contend with rain and cold weather. This jacket was great in the rain and was equally excellent on the descents. Originally bought the medium and had to return it because it was a tad small. The return process was excellent. Ordered a large and I received it within days. I am about 5'9" and 167 pounds. Large fits perfectly. Looks great off the bike as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket! Top quality rain jacket! Perfect fit, very light and packs easily in back jersey pocket. I am 173cm and 65kg and small fits perfect. Nice blood red color. I bout the Core bundle with jersey and bib shorts and the whole kit is great and you get a lot for what you pay in my opinion.

im size medium in a jersey about 38in chest 5'3 tall do you need go up a size with stuff like in the back pocket or is it designed to fit over and still give you room i do carry a lot in rear pockets

Asked by: cambridgecyclist
A Medium size should be a good size for this garment as this is a jacket designed to fit over a cycling jersey. If the size does not meet your requirements then you can return these under our 90 day returns policy.

I bought a Core rain jacket recently and have worn it in the rain recently. What product do you recommend for retaining its waterproof properties

Asked by: Dave Brodaz
You can use the Apparel Re-Proofer on this garment. This has been created to enhance the water-resistance properties of performance fabrics after washing and can be used in conjunction with Rapha Apparel Wash which eliminates stains and odours without compromising the fabric’s breathability or water repellency.

Would this jacket be much more water resistant than the classic wind jacket?

Asked by: Dave79
Both garments are water resistant both are from our different ranges. The Classic Wind Jacket is resilient against wind and rain and treated with DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment The Core Rain jacket, which is is also resistant against the rain and wind and encompasses a YKK AquaGuard® water-resistant zip with zip guard and garage for comfort. Both garments are lightweight and packable.

Are the arms lined with the same mesh as the body of the jacket?

Asked by: Leaky1974
The Core Rain Jacket does not have a liner, it is a packable waterproof softshell; the main body is made out of 100% Nylon 2.5 Layer and the sleeves are made out of 100% Nylon 3 Layer.

how much less breathable will this be than the pack jacket? I have a pack jacket, which is great, but thinking about getting something a bit more fully waterproof.

Asked by: geordan
Hi, this jacket offers significantly more water protection that a Pack Jacket. It is still quite breathable but noticeably less so than a Pack Jacket. This really comes down to the difference in intended function for both jackets.
