Buffalo Pass is 100 mile point-to-point from the Great Basin Desert town of Chinle, Arizona to Buffalo Pass, high in the Chuska Mountains. Travelling through some of the American Southwest’s most spectacular geography and colorful geology to a dinner of mutton stew and Navajo tacos at the Thunderbird Lodge, Buffalo Pass is an epic journey from low deserts to high pinion and juniper pine forests. The route passes ancient Indian ruins, Shiprock (a Navajo loadstone), ranches, artisans and monuments.
