Bordeaux–Paris Jersey

Technical jersey designed to commemorate the 2013 Bordeaux-Paris ride. Made from a high-wicking fabric, the jersey has three large cargo pockets and a reflective chest stripe for riding at night.

Based on the Brevet Jersey rigorously tested by Rapha riders at Paris-Brest-Paris, the Bordeaux–Paris Jersey has been created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Tom Simpson’s victory at the 1963 edition of the long-distance race known as the ‘Derby of the Road’. A lost classic, the race was last run in 1988 and is iconic due to its magnitude, being run through the night and having the last 200km motor-paced by Derny bikes (motorised bicycles). The Rapha jersey also coincides with the Rapha Bordeaux–Paris challenge ride, a charity event organized in collaboration with Ambitious about Autism.

Specifically created for endurance rides, the jersey has several visibility features including white and black reflective stripes across the chest and on the left sleeve. Storage is also key to long-distance rides so the jersey has three large cargo pockets, a zipped horizontal ballast pocket with hoop puller, a discreet zip-up valuables pocket and a water-resistant zipped chest pocket. The perforated black reflective fabric on the chest is also used for a reflective armband on the right arm and there is a reflective tab on the central back pocket. The jersey also carries several embroidered details on the rear pockets and sleeves including a ‘TS’ crest in commemoration of Tom Simpson’s victory at the race 50 years ago.
