Simple, quality bib shorts for everyday riding

Simple, quality bib shorts to complement any ride, the main panels use a dense-knit fabric for support and modesty and laser-cut leg grippers lined with soft silicone for a close, comfortable fit. The bib section uses high-stretch material, machined efficiently for even distribution of stretch and to accommodate longer torsos. Flatlock seams are positioned carefully throughout to hold the shorts in place without chafing. The shorts are available in an entirely black colourway, or with a white bib section to prevent straps showing under a light-coloured jersey.

If you are unsure of which bib shorts to choose, take a look at our new Bib Shorts Guide »

“The Core collection is about optimising innovative fabrics and processes across the entire collection to reduce production hours and wastage. For example, the leg-gripper trim reappears in the jersey back, the material for the zip guard is used again on the sleeve tips, and bindings use rolled edges. This means we can produce Core garments without compromise, leading to a new standard for everyday cycling apparel.”
Alex Valdman, Creative Director

Reviews:

“I told my $500 Assos bibshorts that I had a new favorite and they slammed the door to the Kuku Penthouse in my face. But it’s the truth. The Core bibs are Rapha’s entry-level offering but they surpass that designation in both price and quality.”
9.3/10 - VeloNews

“Rapha's Core bib shorts are an impressive mix of knowhow from premium ranges – giving good quality, comfort and a great fit.”
★★★★½ Ash Quinlan, Road.cc

“The bibshorts are a particular highlight of the range. Flatlock seams join smartly-shaped panels, meaning chafing isn’t an issue and Rapha sensibly hasn’t compromised at the heart of the shorts – the Core bibs are built around the original Classic chamois that remains as comfortable as ever. As a result the Core bibshorts punch well above their weight at this price point. It is a similar story with the jersey – the polyester it uses feels more organic than synthetic, and has been treated with an antibacterial process so still smells reasonable even after repeated use.”
★★★★½ Sam Challis, cyclist.co.uk

“Rapha's most affordable bib shorts to date don't skimp on quality or comfort.”
Jim Clarkson, roadcyclinguk.com

“For weekday training and commuting, Rapha have totally nailed it. Bravo all round.”
Graham Hutson, The Times

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nicely fitting and comfortable bib shorts I bought the core bib shorts as a bundle with core jersey. Very happy with the product. Exceptional fit and comfort. The inner grip layer around the legs & waist stops them riding up. Nice fabric.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great pair of Shorts This is my second pair of core bibs. I wear them everyday for commuting, and for training at the weekends. The fit is a bit more snug compared to the classic , but its fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality I've been riding for 20+ years and these are by far the best bibs I've ever had

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holy Grail of Bib Shorts I have been riding for over 20 years and during this period I have been searching for the Holy Grail of Bib Shorts. You know want I mean shorts that fit well, are comfortable after many long kilometres of riding with a chamois that stays in place without need for frequent adjustment. I have tried many brands in my search including the expensive Assos range. I have also tried Castelli, dhb, Santini etc. etc. all of which had their faults albeit Assos had less faults than the others. I then ordered the Rapha Core Bib Shorts. I have wore these shorts on a number of occasions on rides ranging from 60 to 80 kms and have found them to be the closest so far to the Holy Grail of Bib Shorts. At this time I fully recommend these shorts based on my usage over a short term.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable and good value Great fit and very comfortable! I'm 183 cm slim built with a 77-79 cm waist and ordered the small. Legs are long enough and they sit good over my shoulders, especially when on the bike. Nice comfortable fabric.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and form-fitting I've only ridden in them a few times, but so far so good. The chamois is soft and thick and extends to "fill in the creases".

I have a large core bib, the only problem is the leg grippers are lose, would I be better in a medium. The top is large but while it is good across the shoulders its wide near my stomach, would a medium be better

Hi! I'm 1.74m, 74cm waist, 82cm inseam, I normally use a "italian fit" brand in S. Which size would you recommend for the Core and Lightweight respectively? Should I go for Long leg version or standard? Thanks!

Asked by: Warpo
A small size could be the appropriate fit. If the garment does not meet with your specification then you can return this to us under our 90 day returns policy.

Halfway between XS and S, my waist is 29” and inseam 31”. Would you recommend sizing up or down? I’m 58kg and 173cm so quite slim.

Asked by: Matt_G
Based on your dimensions, we would recommend the XS Shorts in this range

I have a 34 inch waist and my inside leg is 29 inch. I am five feet six tall. What size bibs would you recommend please?

Asked by: Dickie Davies
For this garment I would recommend the large sized based upon your waist dimensions, though the leg dimensions you have given may mean the shorts could have a slightly longer fit. If the garment does not meet with your suitability then you can return these to us under our 90 day returns policy.
