A/W 09 Range: Sneak Peek No.3

Pedalling Essentials
Why am I thinking about the Spring Classics in the middle of August? It may seem a long way off but those wet and windy days out on the cobbles of the Low Countries will require a different approach to sunny summer-time tootles in the hills of Tuscany. This product(s) is a new addition to the Rapha collection, an essential piece of kit that has been long overdue (they took a while to perfect). Put your best feet forward.
The Autumn/Winter Range launches 1st September 2009

Booties is correct (although it was pretty obvious from the post). This won't necessarily be the official name of the product, however, but I was wondering what the majority of cyclists would call them? shoes, covers, booties, galoshes?

Great-at last! A long awaited/overdue product which I'll be first in line to buy. But overshoes or shoe covers please; booties are made of wool and worn by newborn children.

Shoe Covers! Very nice! Do they have tweed trim?

Calling them galoshes worries me that they may be a little too quirky. Spats? Hopefully they will be good ole "overshoes"……

My favourite comment of yours so far, Jamie. I will certainly be giving you a call. They will look lovely with your Colnago.

In the good old days these used to be called "Rubbers". Although might be slightly weird to hear your wife calling after you, as you leave the house, "Dont forget your Rubbers Dear!"!!!!

DISCLAIMER: Rapha overshoes are designed to keep your feet dry and warm whilst riding in the most appalling conditions the Low Countries (and elsewhere) have to offer. If customers choose to use them for other purposes, Rapha are in no way responsible for the consequences.

Thanks Joe. I'm very much in need of a pair at the moment with the weather we're currently getting in the west of Scotland. A 20 mile commute with sidis full of water isn't good.
Overshoes are a difficult product to get right though, they do need to be very tough (for commuting anyway) so really looking forward to seeing what you've come up with. Some serious strengthening around the toe area I hope?
