13 for 2013
It has been a momentous year for Rapha and the world of road racing. The exploits and developments of 2012 are all the more reason to get excited about the coming year. So we present a prelude to our most anticipated races, events, projects and new products for 2013. Happy New Year!
13. The Rapha 100
100 women will be riding the Etape du Tour, representing Rapha to celebrate the 100th edition of the world’s biggest race. We’ll be inviting women worldwide to participate as we promote women’s road riding in 2013. In the build up to this will be the Women's Centuries, a series of rides around the world to encourage women to ride 100 miles or more.
12. Rapha Condor JLT
Starting on New Year's Day, the Rapha Condor JLT squad will be tackling the Bay Crit Series and Jayco Herald Sun Tour in Melbourne, Australia. After three and a half fantastic years with co-sponsor, Sharp, Rapha and Condor will now forge ahead with JLT, an international group of Risk Specialists and Employee Benefits Consultants. With a commitment to nurturing young cycling talent and preparing riders for hopefully bigger things on the worldwide stage, RCJLT will be riding the ITV4 televised Tour Series in the UK and The Tour of Britain later in the season.

11. Rapha & Raeburn
Rapha’s lead product designer, Graeme Raeburn, has been working with his brother, Christopher Raeburn, to produce a special edition capsule collection for city cyclists. Christopher heads up his own design studio in the UK which is famed for using repurposed fabrics and handcrafted construction. All made in England, the collaboration is focused on quality and functionality.
10. Cycle Clubs
As London re-opens in February with even more brilliant products, food, coffee and live racing, two more will be joining the family. Alongside San Francisco, Osaka, the two Mobile Clubs and London, there will be new Cycle Clubs opening in New York, Sydney and a very special pop-up location at the top of Alpe d’Huez.

Join Rapha’s Simon Mottram and others in August to compete in a very special re-running of the 'Derby of the Road', Bordeaux-Paris. Covering a distance of 600km, the aim of the ride is to raise £250,000 for Ambitious about Autism, a charity based in the UK which helps young people with autism and their families, including Simon’s son, Oscar.

5. The Rapha Continental
Whilst we’ll have plenty of focus on the sport at its highest level with Team Sky, Rapha will continue to pursue the road less travelled with the Rapha Continental. The next UK film will be a testing expedition in Wales and the Continental in Asia will brave unexplored routes in China and Malaysia. Expect some interesting journeys again in North America, inspiring stories from Australia and hidden roads and dirt tracks in Europe and Japan.

4. Wiggins at the Giro
2012 was a huge year for British road racing with one man in particular at the centre of it. Bradley Wiggins and Team Sky have stated their intentions of targeting the Giro d’Italia in 2013 and, for Rapha, this couldn’t be a more fitting stage for the next chapter of Wiggo’s journey. Wearing Rapha in the mountains of Italy with the tifosi screaming down his neck will be unmissable.
3. The Black Jersey
Talking of Il Giro, a very special edition jersey in collaboration with Paul Smith will be released just before the grand tour begins. Commemorating the riders who finish last, the Black Jersey honours the Giro’s equivalent of the Lanterne Rouge, the Maglia Nera.
2. 100th TdF
Our sport’s greatest race is always an exciting occasion but 2013 brings the 100th edition. A very special course, including two approaches up the slopes of Alpe d’Huez in one stage and an intriguing start location in Corsica will provide a tantalising backdrop for a hotly contested Tour. We will have products, events, rides and films to celebrate it all. We can already hear those crowds.
1. Team Sky
It goes without saying that 2013 is a big year for Rapha products and with our apparel and accessories outfitting the world’s leading cycling team, it couldn’t really get much bigger. Not only will we be hoping to help Team Sky continue their success on the road, we’ll also be looking to see how we can further improve our products by working with the best in the business.
